  1. I prefer spinning...and maybe come sringtime I can get a Cumara spinning rod for specifically that technique.
  2. Jigs and weighted plastics: 50# braid, I've been experimenting with 832, Samurai, and have gone back to PowerPro Weightless plastics, shakey heads, etc. (spinning): 6# CXX or Hybrid Frogs and flippin': 65# 832
  3. Sam, a cop drove by and gave us a thumbs up. I don't think our luck will ways be that good. We were in the back of a neighborhood on an abandoned lot, so it wasn't a big deal.
  4. It definitely wasn't slow. Just a big lot of mud, and I just gunned it the whole time. It was a hell of a time. Can't wait till I have a truck.
  5. You know you're under-equiped when the splash you make in a puddle is higher than the car. It was alot more fun than I thought it would be!
  6. 70 and windy here. This actually started as a joke. I just really wanted to get it stuck, but it turned out to be really good in the mud... considering it's a Honda Accord.
  7. I took my Accord muddin' today with some of my buddies. It was my first time doing it, and it will definitely happen again. I know that a sedan isn't meant for this, but it held up surprisingly well. Never sniffed getting stuck. This is probably a "teen testosterone" kind of thing, but it was a blast.
  8. 6'6 or 7' MH or H, fast action for contact baits. 6'6 or 7' M or MH, mod-fast action for treble hooks.
  9. All Braids are NOT noisey, just some of them. Daiwa Samurai Braid is almost slient. PowerPro and several others sound like a saw moving through the guides, I can only imagine what its doing to the guides. Nothing. I bought a Curado from David P and it came with Samurai. I took it off yeasterday and put 50# PowerPro on instead. The Samurai was just too soft and felt like fabric.
  10. Well hell I can see why you didn't get out...the deer in your avatar is a BEAST. Nice fish.
  11. I totally agree with Francho. It just makes your combo so much more sensitive, and you get no-doubt hooksets, every time.
  12. Please God let them carry Rage Tails.
  13. Albright Special is easy to tie and very small profile.
  14. The Power Knobs are so comfortable. I don't even want to use my Citica anymore... Plus the Curado is so noticeably better than any reel I've fished it puts the others to shame.
  15. I just stocked up on Craws. Like REALLY stocked up. I also got some Shads, Roosters, and two bags of Hawgs. Those Hawgs are going to be big for me this year I believe. Now all I need to get is a couple packs of a bait that will remain unnamed except to a select few. I think I'm good for a while. Or at least a month. ;D
  16. Rage Tails, Spro frogs, and jigs.
  17. Yeah it is. I'm using mine to throw 1/4 oz. t-rigs and jigs up to 1/2 oz. I just want a longer and more powerful Cumara for flipping.
  18. Ah, if they're for reaction baits (which would make sense), I'll just pay FULL PRICE and get a Dobyns. Grrr. I can get a real good deal on Shimano products now. Wish they made a 7'6 HF in the original Cumara line.
  19. 7'3 +, Heavy power, Extra-Fast action. I use that for everything including open-water walking of the frog. PS- Sounds like you need a Mossberg.
  20. I caught a 5 last year on a 5'6 Light and 4# Trilene. Midday on a beetle spin. Great fight, took about two minutes to land. I want to do it more this year. I'll probably get some small circle hooks and throw Zoom Finesse Worms when I just feel like slayin' fish all day. Definitely tests your angling skills.
  21. Scratch my first post, I'm gonna get a Champion 765/Premier/65# PowerPro
  22. Just wondering if anyone has fished these, specifically the 7'11 MHXF or Fast. I want to get one for light flipping and pitching, up to 1/2 oz. Just wanted to make sure it's not a parabolic crank rod, even though it is the "Reaction" series, LOL.
  23. I'm probably going to get a 7'11 MHXF Cumara for flipping/pitching, with a Curado or Chronarch and 50#-65# PowerPro. That will mostly be for flipping plastics and jigs in hard and soft cover, but I imagine it will be a very versitile rod as well.
