  1. This man speaks the truth!
  2. Personally, I think Daiwa sets the industry standard while Shimano will always be known for producing a d**n good reel.
  3. I have both as well now. I will say that the Zillion is $100 more and well worth the extra money. It blows my 50 and old 200e7 out of the water by a long shot. I thought my 50 was really smooth until today. The Zillion feels like greased glass on glass. I believe that for $90-$120 the Curado is an amazing reel, but I would never pay full price for one. Actually I will never own a Curado 200 again, most likely. They are awesome reels for the price, though.
  4. John, I don't know how you do it, but you are right again. It's a repainted Savvy.
  5. Burley told me he sold all of his Core 50's because the $200 50e was just as good. There's no way in hell a Curado will EVER compare to a Steez, or even a Zillion for that matter. I think hands down Shimano owns (or at least did own) the $120-$180 reel market, but I also think anything above that and it's no competition for Daiwa.
  6. I would sell it for a Ballistic and $50 of crack
  7. I'll try it. I really like Fireline, but I'll give this a shot.
  8. I will be fishing most of tommorow as I have the day off, finally, maybe I will bring the vid camera out. I just wanna get a couple of nice fish. Gonna hit a new pond I've never fished before.
  9. We also will be bringing EXTRA batteries. But seriously AJ, it's too easy man.
  10. Couldn't agree more. What is the point of having a Cumara now? I can get basically the same rod for $80 brand new from my connection.
  11. Having gotten a Cumara a little while back, I'm very dissapointed that they changed all the rods around. I should have waited and saved $30 and just gotten a Crucial. Sucks for die-hard Shimano fans. All the more reason to go to Daiwa, whose higher end offerings blow Shimano's out of the water.
  12. Eric, I'm 99% sure it is more expensive than the Extreme, and more sensitive.
  13. I wonder if they are priced above the Extremes? I've heard so.
  14. Yep, just read that Shimano wanted the Chronarch to be the new Curado. Weird, but it works. Maybe the D7 didn't sell well.
  15. But last year's Citica appears to be this years Curado. I just can't understand why after all these years of having the hands down "best" reel in that category they would make it a "less" quality product... But I do understand what you are saying John.
  16. I would throw a Bull Shad for sure.
  17. I need to get a spinning rig, or at least a good one. I think I'm going to get one of the new Crucials. I've caught a couple 5 and 6 pounders on spinning rigs before and it is a blast. I miss the fight. I've gotten so into heavy rods and braid that it became more about landing the fish than giving it a chance.
  18. The Ballistic is tight.
  19. On the flip side the rods look awesome. If the Crucials are using the same IM 10 blank as the Cumara, I'm getting a spinning rod. Not impressed with the reels, although I like that they come in every gear ratio.
  20. I'm juet shaking my head at Shimano right now. That is just sad. I'll be supporting Daiwa from here on out, although the Chronarch looks good if you pay like $150 for it. Unbelieveable.
  21. Your friend appears to be chewing on a fox, LOL. Nice job man!
  22. Low pro version of the Luna. Looks like a Batman reel.
  23. That's hilarious that he cut it off. Haha I bet he ceught you off guard!
