At 16yrs. old I entered a bass tourney on Lake Panasoffkee. When the boats were lining up for the pistol to sound take off, I heard laughter from all around. Amongst the Rangers, Skeeters and other highline bass boats, there I was in my john boat, equipped with Sea King 5 horse, paddle and styrofoam cooler for livewell. They were laughing hard. Well, I won that tourney, $1800 and a trophy. After that, they were still laughing at me, but I didn't care. Looking back, I laugh at that day myself.

Myself and new fishing partner who I met through this forum had a great trip Sunday. We fished Walsingham Lake in Seminole Fl. from 7-10:00 with only 1 fish. I suggested leaving and trying another lake which we had never fished. We relaunched at 11:00. Using Fat Free Shad and Rapala Shad Rap we landed 50 Bass, in the middle of the day. To be honest, we both feel if we started the day in that lake, we would have had a 100 Bass day. The fish ranged small to 4 lbs. and were the most acrobatic and strongest fighting fish we've seen. We will certainly go there again.

I would like to thank eveyone that rewsponded. Took it back where I bought it and after a few cranks of the handle they appologized. They told me not to worry, they will deal with it and gave me a new reel then switched the line for me. The tackle shop I deal with is Betts Fishing Center, Largo Fl. Again, thank you fellas.

Bought a new Revo STX a few weeks ago, caught maybe 150 bass on it now has problems. Casts fine but during retrieval feels like bearings are grinding. Has anyone else had this issue?

I fish alot at night, here in Fl. My favorite rig is a Berkely Powerbait 10' worm in black. with blk. brass bullet weight that rattles, Texas style. If fishing heavy cover I'll pin weight to worm. That brass weight rattling helps alot. Hope this helps.

Today was a good day. Started at 5;30 working weightless yum dinger red and black worm at the surface and 1rst bass of the day 9 lbs. 8 oun. with 4 more on that bait. Switched to Fat Free Shad and landed 11 more giving me a total 16 bass at 54lbs. 12oun. This was a good mornings fish in this particular lake, I was at work at 9;00, wonder what Sat. will bring.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I would like to start with thank you to this forum, Alot of great folks here and alot of knowledge. I'm born and raised here in Fl. and my fishing roots go back to my late father Benny. He was a great fisherman and rolemodel and wish him and I could still wet a line together. I've been fishing hard at it for 45 years, bass are my passion, my first love. I also catch snook and tarpon but ther'es nothing like bass for me. Most of my fishing is limited to small lakes and ponds all of which are private, most are only fished bt myself and whom ever goes with me. In are area we only have Lake Tarpon, 2500 acres of the smartest bass in the world, they are pressured beyond belief. That being said these lakes and ponds I fish are hidden gems, we have many days a year that offer up those dream trips for the people I take. It's a blast for me to see the joy in their faces, especially the kids. That's what it's about for me, is passing that passion along to others and giving them days they will always remember, I love that about fishing. Thanks to everyone, Rusty
