  1. I dont know how to use links or anything like that so this is what i got. Go to google search and type in "bassin the orlando lakes" its an article on finefishing.com i read about it in an old issue of bassmaster mag. They give you lists of lakes and from 5 acres to 2000 acres all in the orlando-orange county area. Its a very helpful article.
  2. I agree i'm also a pflueger user I love my presidents and trions. My buddy has a supreme and iv'e used it a couple of times and it was very nice.
  3. I have never used the triumph, but I know its the only st. croix rod thats not made in the USA. I would recommend the mojo.
  4. Im not sure about the quickfire reels, but i am selling a sedona if your interested.
  5. Im about an hour and a half from Orlando, Why dont you tell me where it is.haha
  6. Im personally not a fan of berkley, ive been using zoom for god knows how long.
  7. For the fluorocarbon I would recommend the palomar, trilene, or an improved clinch with two wraps around the eyelet. Remember with fluoro its very important to make sure your knots are neat and before you cinch it down make sure its well lubricated.
  8. Try black/blue jig with a good sized trailer, and fish it very SLOW.
  9. Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
  10. White- Never Black- I rarely use solid black but in clear to slightly stained water I will use Black/Grape or Black/Blue Chartreuse- I will use chartreuse/pepper in moderately stained or muddy water. I will also use it in low light conditions. Junebug- I prefer junebug in stained water but occasionally will use it in muddy or clear. Pumpkin- Anytime Green pumpkin- anytime Red- Red shad in my opinion is the best worm color there is, at least where I live. I will use it anytime.
  11. You cant really flip 1/8-1/4oz. plastics with a MH. The bait is simply not heavy enough. I would say 7' M action would be better for this application. About the Quantum PT rods I have no experience with them so I cant say anything.
  12. Pflueger Echelon is 59.99, you can find it on sale at BPS or look on ebay. I own one that I used to use and its a great reel for the money. If you can get the settings dialed in you can cast the thing a country mile.
  13. Thanks guys I appreciate the help
  14. I use between 2-4 ft. depending on the clarity of the water. What knot are you tying to join the two lines.
  15. I would upsize the baits. Maybe 8 inch lizard, 12 inch worm, 1/2 -3/4oz. jig with a big trailer. For colors Watermelonseed, pumpkinseed is what I use for lizards. Red shad, or black/blue for the worm. And Black/Blue or pumpkin/watermelonseed for the jig.
  16. Im not sure, I think it would have to do with the fishing pressure on that body of water. But I can tell you I caught the same fish about 3lbs. twice in one week. And I also caught a fish the other day that had a hook in its mouth that looked like it couldnt have been in there for more than a few days.
  17. Im not sure why they do it but the other day I was out on the water and a 4-5 lb. bass cleared the water by at least 16''. I know you guys are thinking im full of myself but I saw it.
  18. Try to keep tension on your line most of the time and as soon as you feel anything unusual or see your line move drop the rod, reel up the slack, and set the hook. If you do that you should stop hooking them in the gullet, i mean its gonna happen occasionally but that should slow it down.
  19. Ive always used the palomar and have had very few failures. But when my fishing partner ties it he cinches the overhand knot before he brings the hook through the loop and often has failures do you think that could be the problem. thanks
  20. I agree with Chuck ive tried the Vanish and the Vanish Transition and in my opinion its horrible. Personally I use XPS flouro from BPS.
  21. I own a sig. series and a elite and they have done great for me. Ive never used the JM gold so I cant say anything about it but if its similar to the other models id say go for it.
  22. Stren Original for mono, or the new Stren Sonic braid is extremely manageable and limp.
  23. It depends on the clarity of the water your fishing. If its clear (more than 4 ft. of visibility) I would recommend a 3-4 ft. flouro leader. If its stained (1-4 ft. of visibility) I would use a 18'' - 24'' flouro leader. If its muddy I wouldnt worry about it.
