  1. that's pretty awesome!! i'm definitely jealous!!
  2. i noticed you are using a med action rod. what kind of line are you using? mono stretches for days and fluoro has a bit of stretch to it. i use braid and MH rods for all of my plastics. i fish a ton of big worms, frogs, etc. but i do keep one spinning reel rigged with 20lb power pro for weightless applications. since there's no stretch to the braid, setting the hook is never an issue. it's when i've gone back to mono and tried setting the hook i miss fish. and make sure you reel down until you can feel the weight of the fish, with mono, cross their eyes, with braid, just flick the wrist.
  3. i use the 8" on a 5/0 ewg hook and a 3/16 oz screw in sinker. i like the lighter weight to give the worm more action.
  4. 8lb catfish on a pop'r 4 ft long water moccasin on a weightless worm thrown into a half submerged bush. it fought good.
  5. I'm in the Navy and I know alot of people that have been stationed there and are stationed there now. I've only heard one horror story, the rest say they've had a blast there. But then again, us Navy guys get to go to sea and go from port to port. Just watch out for the another siteMROR.
  6. i've also had pretty good luck with a spook jr. i hate flukes, lol.
  7. nice! i hate flukes. lol
  8. anything weightless and weedless. senko senko senko. i've fished there quite a bit and have the most luck on junebug and watermelon senkos t-rigged. throw them out and let them sink and sit. there are some sunken christmas trees on the side behind the dog park straight across from the dock behind the island is pretty good. my wife does good with drop shot lizards. good luck to your daughter i hope she does well!!
  9. I use the same rod/reel set up for frogging and jigging. It's an old Heavy action 7'6" lightning rod with a Quantum Energy PT and 65lb power pro. I try to throw into the nastiest stuff I can find. And I don't want to lose anything, even the stumps I get hung on, lol.
  10. It's Clipper Cove on Congress, just north of Woolbright. There's a pond across the road from the one I fish but it has no fishing signs. The ponds at Clipper Cove have signs that say no swimming, nothing about no fishing. If you go there, I hope you have the same luck I've had!
  11. the secret spot thing was sarcasm. sorry to confuse everyone.
  12. Congrats bro! I love throwing a frog and you're pretty brave doing it with 8# test!!
  13. Thanks guys!! It's funny, cause I say "secret spot" but it's an apartment complex and I've seen others fishing there. It's an awesome spot for sure, first fish I caught out of there went 3lbs. Good luck finding it!!
  14. Me and my boy went fishing for about an hour or so. He got his on a rat-l-trap, i got mine on a white spinnerbait. Good times.
