  1. My truck is darck charcoal metallic and my ranger behind it is dark charcoal metallic too. Red accents on both. So yea, I totally get it.
  2. Anyone use any of these magnetic hangars? Do they work as advertised or do the baits fall off in rough water? Really looking at the kits that come with 4 pairs and the sheet metal. If you have used them do you use the metal and magnets, or screw it to the reinforcement bars?
  3. Yes you have to send them back with the form filled out. One form per bait. It seemed like they were aware of the problem because I had new ones within a week.
  4. I had the exact same thing happen with two different 110’s last year. I contacted megabass and they sent me a form to print out and shipped them back. I got two brand new ones in the mail the next week
  5. I ordered one last night. Just waiting on it to come in the mail now.
  6. I’ve caught plenty of under 12” fish on a zoom ole monster or 10” power worm. Don’t be worried about that on a 2lb fish at all
  7. I have several of all kinds but always trust my KVD 1.5’s
  8. I just don’t throw my used ones away. If they get wore out after fishing then on an under spin or anything else I will hold on to them for a trailer. Sometimes you just have to bite some off.
  9. I have bought several of these lures and I agree that they look great and have good hooks. One of my squarebills has the eye of the bait fall off on the first trip throwing it but I still use it. The 8.5’ diver. It caught a few fish bouncing it off of a brush pile. I would like to try some more of their lures because they are at a nice price point.
  10. I would definitely try to upgrade the frog rod if it were me. Other than that maybe a designated jerkbait rod. 6’4-6’10 M/Moderate. Then there are so many things you can throw on a 7’MH/F rod that they are never a bad choice. Butbreally its all up to you and what you like to do and how you like to fish! Also, I would not get a slower reel for the first setup. All of my bottom contact reels are either a 7.1:1 or 8.1:1. Lets you pick up line faster when they swim at you and gets line in faster to throw it out again.
  11. For that price range I’d buy an Abu Garcia Vengeance and use the extra money left over on tackle.
  12. This shouldn’t be the case at all. Like J Francho said test with weight. You also may be throwing heavier lures on one vs the other. Same rod and if they are both fast tip the mh should definitely be stiffer.
  13. I am a big believer in early spring jerkbaiting. I have megabass, KVD’s, Rapalas, and Spro’s. Although I love the movement of the megabass (as I should at $25) my go to confidence jerkbait is the KVD’s. I carry two jerkbait rods, one for standard diving j300’s and the other for the deep divers. I fish very clear water here and clear ayu works great. But for clear or stained water my #1 choice is the basic chrome blue back. I also like the sexy shad, pro blue, mad dog shad, and gold/black back. But if I could only pick two it would be clear ayu and chrome blue back. You could fish anywhere in the country in any body of water with these two.
  14. What is everyone’s go to bait for punching weed mats?
  15. I couldn’t narrow it down to two reels. But I’m an Abu guy so that gets my vote
  16. Since it sounds like you are planning on using this rod for all of these techniques I would say 50lb. You’ll need that for frogging. As far as a leader I am a huge fan of Seaguar Abrazx for my leaders on these techniques. 15-17#. Very abrasion resistant, low stretch, and sensitive. My frog rod I use 50lb braid. My jig rod and Texas rig rods I use 30lb braid. Hasn’t failed me yet.
  17. I agree with this point. And yes I was just looking to cut some expenses because for example, I don’t use a spinnerbait as much as other techniques and I hate Mono except for topwater. I am unsure of how I am going to go about it this year but I was thinking braid to 8lb YZH leader of a longer length. Invizx is very stretchy as well. So I am uncertain how much of a difference the two lines would matter when it comes to spinnerbaits, squarebills, and other cranks with embrace being a moving reaction strike. I am not even considering this line for any other techniques.
  18. I carry around 20 rods in my boat at all times and most of them I have set up for technique specific applications. I am 5’8” but love a longer rod. As long as I can get away with for the presentation. My shortest rods are my (2) 6’4” jerkbait rods and my 6’8” drop shot rod. Other than that it ranges from 7’-7’9”. The longer the rod the longer the cast. I also like to pitch with a 7’6”. Everyone is different though. 7’4” for me is perfect to walk a frog and have the rod low but not hitting the water. You have to find what you like but when the long cast matters, the longer rod will help.
  19. The only rod I put mono on is my top water rod for lighter baits. Sexy Dawgs, whopper plopper 90’s, POP-R’s, buzz baits.
  20. Spro makes a great frog for sure. I just prefer the softer bodied frogs like the KVD’s. It may just be in my head but hookup ratios seemed to go up for me when I switched. Who knows...
  21. I’ve always been a KVD Sexy Frog guy and have no serious complaints but I think I’m getting ready to invest in some pad crashers to compare the two.
  22. I don’t know about MS but i will use Bang. I have crawfish, shad, and crawfish/shad. I was prefishing a tourney and the bite was tough. I found the fish but could not get them to bite. Sprayed some crawfish bang on a Zoom Ole Monster that they wouldn’t touch before and it was keeper after keeper. Made me a believer that day
  23. I plan on giving it a try. I just received my fist teckel frog and was disappointed the moment I opened the package. I don’t know that it will ever hit the water. I’d like to see the booyah’s in person though. I would imagine they will be of better quality.
  24. Do you use it as mainline or as a leader on your reaction bite presentations?
