Popping scum frogs! Those that say fish the same as you do during the day are dead on.

Here's another vote for frogs. The expensive frogs like the Spro are great but I have caught even more fish on the popping scum frog which is only $3. I am so addicted to frogs, it's really about the only bait I use anymore.

I wonder if the northern and florida strains are different enough to produce hybrid vigor in which case the F1 gen can grow bigger than the P1 such as with the Lion/Tiger hybrid that gets HUGE? I'm guessing they are probably a bit too similar.

Agreed. I've caught several cats on rooster tails over the years and they definitely seem to prefer this one.

I found frogs to be highly effective. I just started night fishing recently and after not having a lot of luck with the typical night baits, I decided to try a frog since they are by far my favorite bait. I was mainly using the cheap little popping scum frogs and was tearing them up. Started with a black frog and had good luck until I lost it. Used a dark green and did well until I lost it. Only had a white one left and it worked well too. I lost more frogs that night than I have all year but it was an absolute blast. Oh and I would agree that they are much more prone to hit it in more open water than they would during the day.

Unless it's really big, the fish is skipping across the surface when I bring 'em in.
