  1. 10 lb line is wayyyy to light for that. in my opinion, 15 lb. min 20 lb being best.
  2. On a 6 acre pond (borrow pit really) that I have permission to fish there is shoreline cover that extends out to about 4 F.O.W.. beyond that there is zero cover in the deeper water. The owner is a crappie fisherman and gets me stakes to hammer into the mud in the deepest parts of the pond. The pond maxes out at 12 feet and most stake beds are built with 12 foot stakes in 10-12 feet of water. My question is, for better bass cover, would it be better to put large groups of stakes close together? Large groups spread out? Small groups of stakes? Are stake beds even good bass cover?

  18. I had the great honor of fishing this morning with memphis's biggest bass fishing legend, second only to some furniture salesman named Bill Dance. Yes thats right Roadwarrior. We fished a very private pond , which I'm sure made all those grove park bass happy that they could eat in peace for a day. The day started off calm and early at 5 am when i struck first for the day with a pair of white cavitron buzz bait bass and missed a few more, while RW fished a rage tail on top like a buzz bait surprisingly unsuccessfully. After what little topwater bite there was died down, RW fished a lobster on a Stick'r rig and had a few bites but still had not put a fish in the boat :surprised: . I was getting worried. We were talking about all the big girls Big-O catches and how we wish there was some standing timber to pitch a rage hawg around just like Big-O does. About that time RW says "I just wanna be like Big-O" and ties on a Rage Hawg in Summer Craw with a half ounce weight and a razor sharp Moaner hook. Like I expected, he just started whacking some chunky bass with one worth a picture. I caught a few more on a worm but I was just trying to take in the experience. A storm chased us off but not before we did a little damage. Yep, TW is going to get an order for some rage hawgs pretty soon, not to mention I'm sitting on the edge of my seat for the icast rage introductions, y'all will love them!

  24. dont even own a hudd, but fish were chasin shad like crazy on windblown points, early they were busting them on top and later against the bluff walls, did very little bass fishing though, mostly walleye chasing, in the bass fishing we did do we caught a small kentucky, a 14 inch largie and a 17 inch smallie, all on windblown points. the smallie was caught on a RR style head and baitfish colored grub body letting it drop down the bluff wall.
