  1. Do you guys think that the nEw oRleans should be rebuilt which would cost hundreds of billions of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$?!?!?! ???
  2. I saw Basscenter today on ESPN and they say a ton of bass have been killed obviously by the sewage waters that has oozed into the clean lakes and all the saltwater coming from the ocean picked up by Katrina and poured into the freshwaters have killed many diferent species of fish, too. The Hurricane affected florida ( one of the best places for bass) and other southern states surrounding it.... especially ofcourse the NEw Orleans. what do you have 2 say?!?!?!
  3. well i've had some luck on crankbaits... just found the channel next to the bank and fish it parallel... just a steady retrieve. also, this time of year, it is really hard to catch fish (at least here in NC)... esp. when you're fishing really aggressively... they don't want something aggressive. they want something slow, like a slow running spinnerbait, or texas rig, anything that requires a little finnese... when bass start to get sluggish this time of year, you want to downsize everything... downsize the weight and the size lure... this time of year is especially good to use a centipede or a french fry worm from zoom on a carolina-rig. even though it's been in the hundreds here every day for the past 3 weeks, the fish are still in 5-10 feet of water on lay-downs... where you would think they would be at night...
  4. coke inboard or outboard
  5. So, whats the biggest bass that you've ever caught? Well, lets see who has caught the biggest bass. Tell us how long it was tip of nose, to tip of tail, and how much it weighed.
  6. Have you heard of the "wedding ring spinner" by Mack's lure company?!
  7. White is a good color cause no bass has seen white colored jigs unless the lake is extremely overpressured with smart fishermen! IN nature, the color white doesn't really represent any of the bass's foods?!?!?!?! ;D
  8. Smallmouth need the same exact conditions as a trout. Cold, rocky, current, clean, clear and warm only during summer!
  9. Also, try to adjust the brakes on the spool every now and then. lubrucating the whole reel with a slight bit of quantum hot sauce also works to minimize backlash and helps the reel a ton.
  10. i definetly agree and approve boiler animal's techinque.... its truly remarkable!
  11. how do you fish a floating jointed minnow. and also, has any one caught a bass with only one eye..... or no eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. When you wear polarized sunglasses instead of goggles while swimming in a pool cause " you can't see the fish".
  13. ok, so i was being too harsh, its just that 5$ just sounds way to "limited" to me if you're tryin to catch qaulity bass. i was kidding about spending 30$, i would actually spend about 10-20 dollars for each trip ( or more if i'm goin to stay for the weekend)! :
  14. How do i fish near docks?!
  15. :PSummer is here, buzzbaits are prime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! except i'm not too familiar with these "magical" topwaters. i'm mainly fishing in a lake where alot of smallmouths roam and few largemouths. OHOw do i fish buzzbaits?!
  16. When your tooth-brush bristles are actually spinnerbait skirts. When your chopsticks are your broken rod tips. When you add gills to your throat. When your wife comes home with a fried fish the quality of a japanese cuisine, and you would rather eat your just caught trout instead.
  17. BILL DANCE DUDE..... HIS SHOWS ARE SO INFORMATIVE UNLIKE ROLAND MARTIN'S SHOWS WHICH HAVE A TON OF SHORT INFOMERCIALS IN THEM!
  18. what the heck can you get with 5$ man! are you some kind of poor hobo who fishes for survival and to get some feed. i mean come one... i would say atleast spend 30$ of tackle for a day's worth of fishing...... SERIOUSLY!
  19. colors do matter when fishing in certain areas where the bass are very particular in what they eat. like ponds and small lakes open only on weekends, color does matter. think of it this way, if you have a clear lure in muddy water, all you're gonna see is what's on the other side of the lure... it becomes invisible, you're not gonna be able to see any outlines or anything, just muddy water on the other side. but if you have a dark lure in muddy water, the lure makes a silhouette, thus you (and the fish) will be able to see it. in clear water, you want the most natural colors. bass get easily spooked in clear water and you don't want anything unnatural to scare the fish. the 2 most basic natural colors are pumpkinseed and watermelon seed. there are other great natural colors, but those two will keep you covered no matter where you fish.
  20. BEER BADDER!! take 1/4 cup cornmeal, 1/4 cup flour, and enough beer to make the mixture wet and thick. stir the mixture until it is thick and all the lumps are out. then dip the bass filets in the badder and throw them on the frying pan at a low temp. add a little salt and pepper, some fresh squeezed lemon, and a little malt vinegar. fry up some hush puppies or french fries, add some cole-slaw and an ice cold glass of sweet tea (beer works too). that my friends is a fish fry..... the southern way!
  21. female bass have dark brown eyes, usually larger than males. male bass have light brown eyes, almost an amber color and are usually skinnier than the females.
  22. simply this site! Yeah, i'm gonna go fishing tomorrow
  23. I'm sure its possible to troll for big bass... is it?! ??? ;D
  24. tell you what you do... go to home depot and buy a pair of Klein red handle wire cutters... they make a blue handle pair, but they're heavy duty cutting pliers, made for cutting 4-6 gauge wire. i have a pair of the red handle ones and they are the best thing i've found when it comes to getting the hook out. if you have gut hooked them, those pliers will easily cut your hook. better to cut your hook off than let the fish die. and NEVER leave a hook in it's mouth. even if you cut the hook, don't even leave a little piece of it in there. why don't you try to swallow a piece of a hook and see what happens to your stomach and intestines. same thing will happen to a fish. hooks weren't made to be digested. they were made to catch fish and withstand being in water for a really long time. just think of it like this, if a fish totally swallows your hook and is now in it's stomach, it will begin to digest the hook and will start to tear apart it's digestive system. if it tries to throw up the hook, it will get hung on something and tear it apart too... the fish will probably die.
  25. in my opinion, it's about 10 times harder to catch bass during the first few weeks of post spawn than it is in 100 degree weather. about this time of the year, the grass that normally will grow in lakes and ponds has just now started growing, and in the summer time when the grass is fully grown, the bass have somewhere to hide from the hot sun and still have food close by. i've been out of luck the past few times i've gone fishing, other than the little runts about the size of your hand... but no big bass... i've seen a couple big ones making beds, but i haven't been able to trigger any bites from them.
