  1. Oil does not need to be kept refridgerated. However, six month would be pushing it. Cold air will actually negatively effect oils so keep them at room temp or in a cool area. I have, however, used bacon grease that is sealed up to a year later
  2. They taste like chicken......... Squab in some parts of the country.
  3. Navionics maps and the Blue hot Maps books are the best out there. Check out the larger waterproof foldout maps at the BPS in Auburn hills They are located right next to the reel counter. Very detailed with brushpiles waypoints etc. If you have problems finding it ask for Bill. (big older guy with glasses and grey hair)
  4. You can contact the DNR in ohio also. I believe you will need the VIN number and the DMV can write you a lost title. Also, check with the DNR or DMV as I think any boat under 18 ft does not require a title. Or maybe that was Michigan, cant remember
  5. Great Post!!! Even in Commercial fryers used in restaurants the ideal temp is set to 350. As mentioned, do NOT use olive oil!!! It has a much lower burn tolerance and is not suitable for frying. Use a good vegetable or peanut oil. One large misonception is that the oil has to be changed every time you use it. NOT SO! Fryer oil gets "seasoned" every time it is used. When frying chips, fries, etc you can use your oil at least half a dozen times before changing it out. Salt, flour, etc will break down the oil over time and then it needs to be changed. When frying fish you may want to change it out more frequently unless you continue to just fry fish in the oil. Fish will leave that "fishy" flavor on the next item put in the oil. I am sure you have had french fries from Long Johns that tasted like battered cod.... Typically, commercial fryers in restaurants change their oil every 3-4 days and most will filter nightly. So, think how much product gets dropped into an Applebees etc. fryer in an average day. Your 2lbs of fish won't harm the oil. Good luck
  6. Have you thought about one of these? http://www.minnkotamotors.com/products/trolling_motors/engine_mount/freshwater.aspx I have a buddy who has one attached to his 21ft walleye boat. He uses it for trolling as well as docking. You steer with the steering wheel just as you would with the regular motor. Easy to install also
  7. Just curious, what did you pay for that truck? I will sometime in the not so distant future be looking for another tow vehicle and don't want to blow the farm since I wont be driving it much. Good looking truck
  8. hahaha I know, horrible, right?
  9. No Problem guys! Clayton is right, use the pepper flakes to taste. I actually cut it down to a 1/2 for my wife as she thought it was just a tad too spicy.
  10. My only concern would be if it is a Japanese reel any service issue or part may be hard to come by. On the positvie side I hear you only catch "GODZILLA" bass with Japanese reels..... I know I know, horrible, but humerous
  11. I actually had an employee with the same name. I thought someone was playing a joke when I checked the payroll register for the first time. Classic!! I have also had the LA-A (ladasha) as a guest with a birthday party Also had a manager that worked for me whose name was Sunshine Beam. (her parents were hippies)
  12. I see you are located in Ohio. What waters are you planning on fishing? For the price listed You could get a very nice John setup or depending on the lakes you will be fishing on a nice Bass Hound type boat for that price. There are better deals out there, just be patient
  13. If you use ice you may want to place it in a plastic bag. Chlorine and fish do not mix.....
  14. you should first check with local DNR officials as it is illegal to transport gamefish in some states. Without having the benefit of livewells I would suggest modifying a large igloo type cooler and installing an aerorator
  15. I realize winter has set in for the majority of the northern members, myself included, and it got me to thinking about Bassmasters Day on the lake articles. I especially enjoyed the Bill Dance article because it was interesting to see a legend test his skills on an unknown lake. Wouldn't it be cool to see BASS put together a "legends" tournament? Possibly a 3 day tourney filled with some of the legends of BASS like Parker, Martin, Dance, Houston and even some of the greats that are still fishing competetively like Hibdon, Clunn, etc. I would be glued to the TV watching this event and would even make a roadtrip if I could. Anybody else agree with me? I am curious to your opinions
  16. Tebow's numbers 316 yds... Hmmmmmmmm John 3:16, coincidence???????????? I know I know, I just opened up the can
  17. What lake, state, name? that may help us lead you in the right direction.

  20. Now Thats a goooooooood looking jersey!!!
  21. Skeet was researching a new prototype C Rig worm. 10" and 12" worms are too much the norm nowadays and he was working on a 22ft Anaconda worm soon to be out by RAGE.......... Testing is still in the infant stages :eyebrows:
  22. Happy Birthday Glenn!! Thank you for all you do and I hope you have a day that is stress free and filled with laughter.......
  23. THE DINGO ATE MY BABY!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Pontiac lake gets VERY heavy fishing pressure. That being said, my advice would be to downsize your baits. Depending on the time of year for the tourney Tubes, dropshots and slow rolling spinnerbaits may be the ticket. It would help to know what month your tournament is in. You can find hundreds of lake reports for Pontiac on Michigan sportsman.com Also, hit the local tackle shops and ask the workers. KD outdoors on M-59 is a good source in the area
