  1. I ask the question: Are you a BPS or a Cabelas person? This seems to be as polar as Ford and Chevy. Coke and Pepsi. Myself, I guess if I have to choose I would go with BPS. Cabelas is more expensive IMO. (as I type this I am looking right at a Cabelas ad... LMAO )
  2. For the women who fish in my boat that is what the second live well is for.... I had my sister in law convinced that it was a marine port a potty. God is she dumb..
  3. I was just looking at my boating gear after vacation and found a plastic emergency prop. It came with the boat along with two stainless props when I purchased it. I had forgotten about it. Anyone have one or have info on them? I seem to remember being told that you shouldn't use it at speeds exceeding 20mph? Better than getting stranded for sure..... I keep it in the back of the boat by the gas tank and batteries. I had just forgotten it was there.
  4. Just got back from a week of fishin Northern Mi. lakes. I fished Lake Avalon, Rifle, George, Long Lake and Loon lakes. Fishing was fantastic but the real treat was being on the water with my favorite fishing partner, my 9 yr old son. Little ba#$#@ outfished me 12-5 Saturday using dropshots and landed this nice 4.3lber. It was his first Smallmouth on a dropshot using an ultra light spinning outfit and 6lb line. what a way to get introduced to smallies!!!!!!
  5. No drinkin in my boat. Thats for the Dock when you pull in after a good day fishin. Too many idiots to be impaired on the water......
  6. 3 letters BTS
  7. That was the even worse part. I was the only boat on the lake. When I was 50ft from the dock another boat was putting in. it wasn't even worth calling them at that point, I had come sooooo far...
  8. So I get my boat back from the shop where they supposedly fixed my stalling motor by replacing the Power Pack. Thinking I was coming right home I pulled off my trolling motor prop to install a new one. Well, wanting to check their work I decide to take it for a lake test. Boat seems to run fine, isn't stalling under load like before, great. About 1/2 mile from the ramp the motor dies.... OH *(^%&*!!!! outta gas. And, the trolling motor is also useless cause my dumb *## took the prop off. Let me tell you that rowing an 18 ft bass boat into the wind just plain SUCKS.. Man am I sore now. Wont' Do THAT AGAIN
  9. You had me at "I will not accept money" Seriously, I will be on vacation next week but may be up north. In the spring I took a great guide out and he gave me some great spots. All were between 9mile and 15 mile roads. Pm me and I will see if I cant get you some waypoints for some weed beds. I am certainly no guide but it may help.
  10. Local BPS has a model on sale for $129.00 Its a 4 inch screen with 50ft of cord. I believe its the low end version of the Aqua View. Anybody have any opinions on these or experience? I have always been curious about these but cost is $$$$$$$ I would think that they wouldn't be very effective on murky H20. Or, is it cheating????
  11. Been having similar issues with my 150 Johnson. See Sickly Johnson posts. The shop hooked to the Dyno, changed the filter, and are now telling me it was the power pack. I pick it up today so I will let you know if was corrected. Similar issue though. Engine just died while under load. So far, I'm at $522.00 > Good Luck
  12. Do they need lubing?
  13. The other question I have is: If I could have diagnosed this myself ( which I certainly could NOT) Is this something I could change relatively easily myself?
  14. Shop just called me with the diagnosis for my motor. As you may recall it was dying under load. She would just quit when hitting the throttle. They changed out the Power Pack. Now, I haven't driven it yet but they tell me its fixed. for $351 What function does the Power Pack serve?
  15. Some other issues that can contribute to low speed is amount of gear in the boat, and Operator weight. I have a 18 ft stratos with a 150 and it tops out at 63 running 5500 RPMs. Maybe a diet is in order
  16. Corn, bobber, cane pole..... Just kidding Senko, watermelon black flake
  17. 96 Stratos w/ 150 mint condition. loaded with extras when I bought it 2 yrs ago. $102 month for six more months. Paid 5K for her. Best money ever spent
  18. You shouldn't have to worry about how to price it.... Just ship it to me, I will gladly float you $50 so you don't have to ever worry about the hassle of posting it on one of the flea market sections. :o
  19. Thanks for the help guys. I found them at Champion Trailers.com Exact same size and dimensions
  20. Anyone know where I could find brackets? My 96 Stratos trail busted 3 bunk brackets. They seem like a pretty common size. 3" by 3" L shape with two holes on one side to screw into the wood bunk and One for the bolt on the other.
  21. Ribbed for pleasure :D :D
  22. This lake is fairly easy to fish as it has a ton of fishy looking cover, stumps, trees, shoreline, road beds etc. Try the main lake points and the sunken road bed. Normal tackle applies: Fat Ikas, senkos, cranks. We have done well running cranks across the roadbed and by the dam. Good Luck. I actually going home next weekend and plan on fishing it as well. My family lives 5 minutes away in Mason
  23. Yes mostly LMB and SMB. The Ohio river and its tributaries has some very good bass fishing as well. From Ludlow, Brookville lake is only about 1 to 1.5 hours away about 60-70 miles i think.
  24. I remember when I was a kid watching a Rolan Martin fishing show where he was wading a lake (probably Okechobee) and fishing for lunkers with a silver minnow rigged exactly the same way. In fact, you can still see the MOnster he caught during that taping at the beginnig of his show in the lead ins funny.....
  25. Big Mike Armco park just went public this year. It is a 112acre lake that is electric only. You can also rent johns with a trolling motor for like $20 daily. This lake has some good fishing unless it has already been pilfered by the john Q public. IMO it should be catch/release only. There have been some 5-7lbs taken out of there including a 6lb smallie. Good Luck
