  1. X2 Always purchase your series batteries in pairs. They need to be fully charged in tandem otherwise one will ruin the other by overworking.
  2. Just got to thinking, I fished a 10hp max restricted lake the other day in my bass boat. I have a 150hp motor. After reading a post here about restricted lakes it got me thinking that I shouldn't have fired up my motor and only should have used the TM. My thinking was that I was OK to crank up the motor and only idle around the lake. Am I wrong? Does a 10hp limit mean only 10 hp or less or does that allow bigger boats to only idle? I don't want to break any laws but a 600 acre lake with only a TM is crazy. Thoughts?
  3. You can check out Dave Davis at NBAA. This is the southern Ohio division of the National Bass Anglers Association. Tournaments throughout the summer and you can fish in NBAA tourneys all over the country. Dave is a great guy. They hold many meetings at BPS and fish East Fork, Rocky Fork Ceasars, and the Ohio River. Check it out www.NBAA.com
  4. SKLZ Sport-Brella Umbrella Look this up on the web. These are plenty big enough
  5. That is a beautiful truck...... Congrats
  6. done
  7. Because you ROCK......
  8. That is absolutely amazing!!! Goodbye Bait Monkey!!!!! Think of the impact this machine could have in the world of fishing... WOW
  9. You could absolutely go to LSC and catch fish with no previous knowledge. However, depending on the species you are looking for, Saginaw Bay might be your ticket. If its walleye you are looking to catch a blind man could find them on the Bay. You should be able to limit out in two hours with local bait shop information. On LSC, I would say your best bet is to hit the mile roads. Start at 16 and drift down to 9 mile. You should be able to boat some nice smallies.

  12. Chestnut brings home the title again!! Sorry, but the thought of consuming 62 hotdogs in 12 minutes really makes me sick. Thats 18000 calories. I cannot even imagine the horror that must accompany this man a few hours after the event in the comfort of the mens room......
  13. I am a baseball purist. Part of the lure of the game is the history involved. Not sure I liked the new park. Although it is a beautiful complex there is something about the smell of stale beer, urine, and musty concrete.
  14. Congrats AJay. It won't be too long and I will be there with ya. I actually miss northern Michigan a little. Since moving to Cincinnati I haven't fished nearly as much. Dying to make a trip to Hillman to fish lake Avalon. Tight Lines
  15. do you want the recipe to the Red Lobster biscuits???????
  16. There is a decent Non sanctioned weekly Wednsday night tourney there that is nicely done. Launches out of Whites Landing at 5:30. Tourney from 6-9. You should check it out. Decent money
  17. Kinda like to see the pics of the wife to compare....... just sayin
  18. First, type boat launching into the search topic at the top of this page. There are many great threads about boat launching dos and dont's. If you are going to practice launching your boat either go during the week or very early in the morning or very late in the evening. You do NOT want to "practice" at the ramp on a weekend during peak hours. You will just slow the process down and annoy seasoned boaters. For me, I go through a mental checklist every time at the launch. In fact, I used to have it written down in my truck until it became habit. Go through this checklist every time without fail, exactly the same order and you will not forget a plug, a strap etc. I start in my truck once I pull up to the ramp 1. break on 2. unhook chain, unhook winch strap 3. walk down port side unhook rear strap 4. screw in plug and remove jack 5.walk around to starbord side and remove rear strap 6. when walking past captains seat flip on power and accessories 7. at front of boat check the hitch again just in case 8. get back in truck, open both windows 9. release brake 10. back boat into water. As for opening both windows, this gives you much more awareness and allows you to hear someone yelling at you that you are about to hit the dock, etc. With practice, you should be able to launch your boat in about 5 minutes even by yourself. If you want a crash coarse in what NOT to do, just go sit at the ramp on a Saturday around noon. Take a few cold ones cause it will be comical.. Good Luck
  19. Depending on the region you live which appears to be northern I would guess this is the cottonwood blooms. They appear like small cotton balls floating everywhere. It is always a good time if you have these by your home to check and spray off your AC as these are notorius for clogging filters, especially on commercial rooftop units.
  20. In the end it boils down to how much boat can you get for the money? you stated that the prices were roughly the same, is that with the Nitro rigged out? If that is the case and with the Nitro set up with all the bells and whistles you want and that price is close to a standard rigged Ranger I would say go with the Nitro. Eventually, you are going to spend the money on electronics, lighting, etc even if you buy the standard Ranger so you will be paying for it either way. If you are looking at boat quality and stability standpiont and cost is just your sticking point I would recommend the Ranger. Not that Nitros are not a decent boat, IMO Rangers are a better product. Although you pay alot for that Ranger Nameplate....
  21. Excellent Glenn This is perfect information. This is something that I always wanted to try to get a better understanding of the lakes and ponds I fish as well as the ecosystem I am fishing. I will keep everyone posted
  22. I believe what you are describing is called " a baitcaster" If I may ask, why would you want this on a spinning rod when you could get the same setup and more durability with a baitcaster? is it a preference thing or are you unfamiliar with BC setups? Especially when pitching and flipping in cover you will get more accuracy, a stronger, more durable setup and have more options with heavy line. Otherwise, I would check out some smaller saltwater spinning setups
  23. Anybody know a good fish tagging system that is relatively cheap to purchase? We have two small ponds at the front of our sub. They are LOADED with bass ranging from 12-19in. My son and I would like to buy a tagging system and begin tagging some of the fish and then keeping a fish log. We would log the date, time, conditions and lures when caught as well as length and weight. Throughout the years we could monitor these fish and track patterns etc. I just thoguth it would be a great profect for my son and I to take on together
  24. Way2Slow Your posts are so informative and understandable... Thank You As for the price, Yes, I too almost sharted when he told me. I called my "guy" Ace Marine out of Michigan, who is, IMO, one of the best marine shops in the mid Michigan area and he fell out of his chair when I told him what they were charging me. He also said that part is about a 165-200.00 part and would take him maybe two hours to install, button everything up, and hook my boat back on my truck. Basically, they are bending me over When I pick up my boat next week I plan on informing him that now Two respected marine mechanics told me it would not take 5 hours to install this part. If they can't work with me on the price they will NEVER see my face again and I will tell everyone I can not to use their services So everyone in Ohio, Dry Dock Marine is not your best bet.....
