  1. Just seen steeles bass, they are hooters mate , spewing we don't get em in my neck of the woods. Even though this is a US forum i must state that this fish was caught in july 2008, ( there is a close season imposed at the moment on the murray cod in my state) yellas Introduces pest of a fish... the carp hitting cranks. The second most deadliest snake in the world having lunch.
  2. they are such a nice looking fish.good work
  3. awesome piccie
  4. Once again guys thank you for the warm welcome. @ Glenn sure feels like home around here too, lure freaks , tackle monkeys, certified fishing junkies!! Love it.
  5. Thank you all for the welcome. Over here i fish spin baits, cranks and chatters, hardly many if any plastics which is what I'm here to learn. My brain is in overdrive and i can't wait to hit the water this weekend, love it. I reckon a wacky rig would clean up on the schooled up fish and a worm on a Texas rig smashed through the timber would also score. The are two main native species we chase in my state Golden perch and Murray cod. Murray cod grow in excess of 100lb while the Golden's have a maximum growth of 50lb , 10 lb is a solid fish worth bragging about. Other species on offer in my state are trout both browns and rainbows, red fin red fin, silver perch ( a small mouthed cousin of the Golden's that go hard). Most fishing is limited to the Murray river ( big river) with a few dams here and there and a few small streams, Besides this, there is very little fresh water in my state.
  6. Not being from the US i know virtually little about bass, are they very territorial and aggresive??? I'd imagine so. DO you guys over there repetitive cast into the same spot to get that territorial response from a fish that are lock jawed? Works on the fish layed up over here where they strike out of sheer frustation of having thier space invaded over and over.
  7. 3 baitcast and three spinning outfits that i carry on the boat
  8. cheers mate, i need to crack ten posts so i can post a few piccies of whats eating lures over here.
  9. Over here in oz i have seen the same thing, fish with cataracts and blindness due to injury continuing to thrive no matter the conditions. There is one particular fish i have caught local that is blind in one eye and has graced me three times with its appearence, Two out of the three times the lure has been hit on the blind side. Also have caught bream in the brine with serious cataracts in clear salt water bays, they are virtually visual feeders but this old guy still is able to feed. Vibration and scent would have to play a part in these circumstances.
  10. Hi all, My name is Lucas and i live in Australia. I joined up on this forum as the species i target over here have the same characteristics as your beloved large and small mouthed bass and i'm here to learn new techniques that can be used on our species over here, Yet to have a proper look around the site but so far from what i have seen it looks like a cracker. cheers lucas
