  1. GUINNESS DRAFT! In a pub in Ireland with a supper of wild salmon. After 50 miles on a loaded bicycle. Doesn't get any better than this. As a side note, I raised my glass for the first sip just before all the bubbles had risen, when the gal at the next table grabbed my arm, saying " No, don't drink it yet, it's not ready!" My cycling buddy told her " Hey! if you want somebody to nag, get your own husband." She was a good sport, and we had a nice chat.
  2. Thanks for the welcome. No, no organized event; just a chance meeting.
  3. My buddy Dave and I went to the local municipal pond (Germantown, Tn.) and Roadwarrior was there. He was very personable and down to earth (just like here). He approved our lure selections and strategy. COOL! I complimented his sharing tips and work on the forum. As to the fishing, I got a LMB-Maybe 1&3/4 # on the first cast, and nothing else. Then I saw a group of 4 bass( 2-2& 1/2 #) dart right up to my feet and out again. I think they were laughing at me.
  4. I successfully re-painted our 20 year old ski boat. Lots of prep. Remove all hdwe.; patch nicks & dings; sand ENTIRE boat with 100 grit for "tooth". Wipe down entire hull with lacquer thinner to remove all silicones, waxes, and fingerprint or skin oils. This is most important. Use Dupont Imron. It's 2-part, with hardener, get it at auto paint shop. I shot several coats of primer, ($75 per gal.); 6coats of color(red $150 per gal., the most expensive color), then two clear coats.($75 per gal.).You recoat in 45 min.-8(?) hours, or it hardens so much that you must wait 3 days, resand for tooth. I shot all coats in one day. Ten years later it still looked fine, and held up to weekly use and normal abuse. (P.S.) the prices were in 1986.
