  1. When he drives the boat over fish so he can beat the bank.
  2. Thanks. Weighed 1&3/4#, didn't measure length. Trying to get back on the water to look for more.
  3. Caught this one today, 02APR2011, at Melvern. Water temp 44F, KDWP reports 51F? Megabass ITO Vision 110 jerkbait, mouth of cove, rocky shoreline.
  4. The Friday before Labor Day, it sprinkled some. Water levels were at least 3' higher a week later when I went back the third time, so the rain must have come after Labor Day.
  5. Kansas is far from a destination for Smallmouths, but I did manage to bring a few to the boat this weekend. Went Friday afternoon to beat the Holiday crowd. I caught Smallmouths, Largemouths, Spotted, and White bass on the same presentations, and added a bonus of a couple of drag ripping wipers to the mix. Addictive to say the least, I couldn't stand it, so I went on Labor Day as well and suffered through the jetski's, tubers, and party pontoons just to feel those smallmouths tug......so hard...it was worth it. Nothing big, except my smile.
  6. Wow, what a beautiful fish. For me part of the appeal is the markings and coloration.
  7. For both numbers and size, these are currently the dream spots. 50-100 smallmouth, 4-6 lbs is possible. If it REALLY SUCKS you might only get half that! 8-) What months do you recommend? Have read a lot of comments about great fishing there.
  8. Truly no preference for location. What months do you see the best activity in the North East?
  9. Hi guys, I'm looking for your suggestions for the ultimate smallmouth guided trip in the lower 48. Criteria: big smallmouths lots of smallmouths friendly and hardworking guide great scenery decent lodging and food nearby prefer lake over river where, who, and when?
  10. I looooove that sensation.......better than crack
  11. New member here from Kansas City. Believe it or not, we have smallmouths here in windswept prairies of KS. I have very little experience with these fish, but know they are spectacular. I got the fever, and am booking a trip to Ontario specifically for smallmouths. Thanks for the active and informative forum, I am here to learn and succeed.
