  1. Ontario Bass at its best. Smallies ... More smallies lol...
  2. I use a 6-6 med fast casting rod so 10# flouro for me. mono has way to much stretch. But if you are using a heaver rod with the smaller 110 size baits (maybe there's bigger bass where you live) the stretch from the mono will counter act the heaver rod and won't pull hooks out. My set up handles 5-6 lbs smallies no problem.
  3. I'm using a Stella 2500/ gloomis drop shot rod with 10# braid to 8# flouro leader and have no issues. I use a crazy alberto knot, holds great and is small. How you guys use mono for drop shot? With an extra fast tip and all that stretch how you set a hook? Down size your braid to 10# if you comfortable using a 6# leader that knot tied with alberto will be very small.
  4. Hey all, thinking I may try this stuff on my ranger trailer fenders. They still look nice so I'm thinking if I give them a shot with this stuff it may keep them looking that way. Anyone have any experience with this stuff on a boat application? Just wondering how it will hold up driving down the road, in and out of the water and hit with a power washer (not a direct blast)?
  5. And this is the reason why bass/fishing boats are seriously over priced. Consumers that have no business purchasing a $60 $70 $80 grand boat. Drives the prices up and also affects the used market price. No offence to anyone but if someone needs 20 yrs to pay off a boat at 13% interest, they shouldn't be purchasing it. However, it's allowed so...
  6. Hey guys, I’m looking at this rod in a 7’1” med hvy fast action. I’d like a med action but this actions is available at almost half the price. Anyone use this specific action? Is it a true med hvy or is it a little softer. I’m looking at it for weightless/light weighted wacky set up. Thanks
  7. Looks like a clean boat... factor in upgrades and fixes to the cost. If you can deal the boat for a price your happy with add an extra few thousand for the upgrades and fixes. Use the boat for the season, if it fits the bill and looks like it's gonna be a solid rig you can use 3-5 years then you can decide on larger upgrades like a refurbish that include new carpet, seats/skins, pumps, wet sand trailering upgrades and possibly a motor upgrade. If it ends up being a flop then just use till she dead and start over. The good thing is your not into it for a crap load of money.
  8. I would compare the triton 18trx to the ranger 518L both can max out with a 200. In his case I would go with the ranger 518L. The z185 would compare more with the 189trx. In your case I would go with the triton but look at the 518L it's an amazing hull better then the triton in my opinion but will cost more.
  9. It's from an ultegra 3000
  10. Hey found a replacement knob for my Stella. Think it looks stock and feels great.
  11. So I tried my stradic knob but I couldn't get it to fit nice. I tried the knob from my ultegras and carados and they fit nice. I'm ordering knob from ultegra to try out. Thx for replys all
  12. Ok thanks. I called about 40 places.
  13. Good day all, wondering if anyone can help a fellow angler out. I need a new handle knob for my older Stella 2500. I can't find any, Shimano discontinued the part years ago. eBay wasn't even any help. I added a pic of the knob if anyone has one laying around they would like to sell that be great. Believe they are same as older stradics. Thx all
  14. It's gonna come down to the size of fish you target and area you fish. Being Ontario angler we have big bad smallies and I found a ml extra fast drop shot rod wasn't making the cut. I was loosing way to many big fish. I switch to a gloomis med xf and I hardly loose any. My ml xf set up is basically for smaller profile baits like trd or spy baits. I have a 7' med fast for pretty much everything else, wacky, neko, tubes, small swimbaits.
