  1. Thank you. That means a lot from you two. I don't wish this upon anyone. And I'll be the first to admit it was my mistake and my fault.
  2. Jon, again, I apologize. I can provide hospital records if you really want them. Everything I told you can ultimately be tracked, if you believe me or not. We talked for some time when he informed me. I even offered him my phone number so he can speak to me in person and allow me to explain myself. brushhoggin, it is. skunked_again, mistakes happen. Like you said, we're all human. I fixed it as quickly as I could. Jon didn't really want the reel, so I provided the receipt so he can return it and get what he ultimately wants. "I recently purchased a 14 Biocube Hood from iFish's. Great communication and the hood was in perfect condition. Definitely recommend him as a seller." http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=15092765&postcount=1 "I recently purchased a 150w mh light from nick. He cares more about you being happy with what you are buying than making money. Def recommended and I would buy from him again for sure. thanks Nick A++" http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=15632616&postcount=5 Additional feedback can be found here: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1645555&highlight=ifisch Again, a simple mistake. I made an attempt to inform family to get the right product out to the right person in a timely manner, from the hospital. Obviously this didn't happen in this instance. I sincerely apologize to Jon, and everyone else here.
  3. Well I've briefly owned a Cabo 20. Returned it two weeks later, got the Sol. I shouldn't have even wasted my time. The quality of the Sol is a bit greater than the Cabo, IMO. I've also owned the Catalyst as well. I've tried and tested Quantum SW reels. Feel they're a bit overpriced, IMO. Decent reels, but if you can get a Cabo for $150, do it. If you're paying the same price as a Sol, don't even think about the Cabo. I'm not a "fan boy" of Daiwa, I'm just telling you, honestly, you're better off with the Sol or Sustaian by Shimano. I just don't feel the Cabo and Sol are in the same "class". You may, and that's fine. But I couldn't justify the price of the Cabo for the quality you're getting. You're getting $150 quality, for $200. That's what I'm trying to say. The only thing I love about Quantum, is their drag. It's mighty sweet. But then again, the Sol is 2x smoother, and it too, is mighty sweet. So there's always going to tradeoffs in the reel industry. This is purely my opinion. Take what you will. Like I mentioned, I'm not a "fan boy" of Daiwa. I would like to recommend the best reel that's in that price range. And I do not believe the Cabo belongs there.
  4. ....just a counterpoint.... the cabo has a TiMag bail... epoxy coated magnets, that replace bail springs...that wont corrode or wear out.... ceramic drag supported by twin bearings...... seems to me that the cabo is a much more equipped reel for the salt!!! For SW dunking you mean. ;D If you don't dunk you're reels, any FW, sealed drag and anti-corrosion bearings will serve just as well in SW, than FW. Since I rinse my equipment after each SW use, I don't see the point. And I don't dunk my equipment either. But if you plan on just buying it, using it, and storing it, go with the Cabo. Like you said, built for the salt it's going to retain. :-/
  5. They should be, considering the price. Like I mentioned I'm new to fishing, but I thought I overpaid for these. http://www.berkley-fishing.com/prod.php?k=96579&sk=95807&u=PCATS132 I panfish primarily, but I have $150 reels and rods. $1.25 a piece for these little guys is a little pricey, but they are extremely dealdly. Now, I need different colors, and now I'm looking at $20 with tax. I wish I made more $. I also use the panfish series Gulp Alive baits. Love 'em both. Slowly learning it's Berkely or nothing when it comes to plastic baits. I only touch LC, Sebile or Spro lures. I'm pretty loyal to what works. Plus I like buying quality. The colors and quality of the LC lures are unmatched. Well, except for maybe JDM imports (Megabass etc). But I'd rather support local retailers, because you can't get the kind of advice/support from an online retailer that you can locally.
  6. Well, let me restate what I meant. To "try" a pack of 3 plastics for $10, is a little pricey. If they catch fish, then their worth their weight in gold. I own many LC lures, and at $15 a pop, I've caught a-many fishes before, so I am pleased with my purchase. But like you, I haven't heard enough "good" things, to justify the price of the Berkely ones. However they seem to put out a quality product, no matter what it is. (And yes, I'm new [6months] to fishing)
  7. That's too bad. In this situation, the Cabo is the overpriced reel, and the Sol is the underpriced reel. The Cabo has a "SW paint job", but if you briefly flush your gear after each use, this "special paint job" is pointless. If you've never owned a $200+ reel, I highly suggest you reconsider the Sol. At this price point, reels are considerbly better than a $100 reel. But, you'd hope so, considering it's twice as much.
  8. To rich for my blood. $3 a piece is a little pricey for me. But I hear decent stuff about 'em.. I like SK Shadalicious for the price. My BPS, for some reason, has packages of 7 - 3.5", instead of 6. So I get an even better deal. And all my packages have been of 7. Even the employees were shocked when we opened a package. Had EXCELLENT luck with the SK in SW, lots of large 20" sea trout, but have yet to catch a bass on one. :-[ And no, I use a "fresh" bait in FW, and keep my SW used SK's in a different ziplock bag.
  9. Glad you mentioned this. I like "playing" with my fish for a few minutes. My strongest rod is a 7'ML. Everything else is 6' "L"'. If I get a Spro or TT hard 4" swimbait, will I be allowed to "play" with the first for a minute before landing, or are these baits designed to be used with much heavier rods?
  10. Yeppers. That's why I suggested it. The Stradic is also a very fine reel for the price. Just be sure to give any SW reel a quick FW rinse, if you want to save your investment. Don't use a lot of water pressure. If anything, just use the tip of your hose and give it a 2 second bath to wash off the SW. It will help keep the spool and reel in good shape.
  11. Far better rod here: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_104151_100002002_100000000_100002000_100-2-2 Print this, and bring it to BPS store and have them price match it. EXTREMELY light and sensitive. I swear to God, you cannot find a better rod, for $60.
  12. Two words: Daiwa Sol 'nuff said. About 2.5x better than anything Quantum.
  13. Jebus Christ! I use punny 10# braid.. call me a sucker for light tackle.. and light line.
  14. I'll call ahead of time. There's one about 10 miles away. I'd like to try the "Beast" hooks. I hear good stuff about 'em.. Thanks for the tip!
  15. For some reason my BPS doesn't carry them. Need to find a tackle shop that does..
