  1. I would hope that everyone who is participating in this thread and that is commentating on the shimano Core actually uses it or has atleast tried it. I own a Core, a curado e7 and a curado e5 and as much as i love the curados when i use my core i notice a huge difference. The core is a amazing reel. I have it matched on a cumara and the combo is far greater than any other combo i have ever tried. That said do i think its worth that much more than a curado.... yes, but i do not have 3 of them. Every reel has its place. My curado e7 is used for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits and my curado e5 is used for crankbaits/ treble hooks. My core is used exclusively for soft plastic. This conversation is like the one that was going on not too long ago about stradic vs sustain. I own a sustain and like it alot more than my brothers stradic. Personal preference. And above all this shimano offers the best service of any company i have ever dealt with I wouldnnt trade my core for anything and i think its worth every penny!
  2. I love these!!!! My only problem is that a stupid pike torn it off and cut my line taking the one weighted hook that came with the package. If you are using these or a similar swimbait what hooks are you using???
  3. Shimano Crucial mh moderate action. I got one with a curado e5 and i love it.
  4. The booyah bucktail little spinnerbaits are awesome
  5. 4- my boat has 4 rod tubes so instead of buying quantity i baught quality.
  6. Post a pic. I fish alot of tubes. Maybe i can help.
  7. The Core + Cumara is a fine looking combo. The Stradic + Cumara is pretty nice too. I have one of the older white versions on my Cumara and it just doesn't look as good as the new silver one. Its actually a Sustain 2500 not a stradic
  8. Here are my 4 reels and rods. I like them clean and more "low key" than flashy reels. If i had to pick any reel it would be the shimano core. I like the charcoal and red combo. It looks awesome!!!
  9. bps xps tube hooks are the best!!!! hands down.I fish alot of tubes and they are awesome. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_51874____SearchResults
  10. My thought as well. x3 lamprey
  11. Went to pick up some new hooks today and i noticed the owner hooks beside the gammy's. They looked prety good. Does anyone know how the Owner's compare to Gamakatsu? I was looking at the offset shank worm hooks and the ewg's.
  12. Anyone ever use the gamakatsu offset shank work hooks or the owner offset shank worm hooks? The owner ones seem alot thicker in diameter.
  13. Ardent culling balls are the best
  14. I've been using 4/0 gamakatsu ewg's for t-rigging everything from hula grubs to 10" powerworms and tubes. They work great but i find that i lose alot of fish on the hooksets. Would i lose less by using a smaller ewg like a 1/0 or a 2/0 when using smaller baits?
  15. 4lb and bigger is a good fish round here....
  16. My neighbor is a optometrist and says that as far as sunglasses go Oakley's technology in their lense's are far better than any other sunglass lense out there. I got a couple pairs and i love them. Ebay them and you could get a pair of Oakley straight's for around your budget. I've seen them go for 85$.
  17. 4.1 smallmouth Rapala Subwalk in silver 3.12 largemouth green pumpkin/watermelon laminate 5"senko
  18. Stop him... why would you wanna do that... hes my friend...I love fishing for lures and trying out new thing... everyone here was recently talking about rage tail baits so i went and baught some and they were awesome!!! Not only that but the monkey got me to go to gander mtn this morning and to my surprise all soft plastics were 20%off. Needless to say we had a blast buying all kinds. Picked up some coffee tubes, some senko's, hula grubs, rage tail shad, rage tail anaconda, rage tail space monkey. Best of all the monkey and my girlfriend are great friends.
  19. Are you fishing the Berkley B1 this weekend???
  20. Take a 10 inch powerworm cut the head down about 2 inches. just big enough so you can rig it with a 4/0 ewg hook. gives you about a 8 inch worm with a much thicker presentation than a 7"inch worm. in black or watermelon red purple.
  21. I like nice things and i love fishing. When i fish or do anything i buy quality. My budget permits it. I have 2 brand new curados, a core and a sustain. They are sitting in crucials and cumaras. I love my equipment. I wouldnnt change it for anything. I also pay for quality so that i get a good warranty. Shimano warranty is amazing to say the least. At the end of the day will they catch me more fish... i dont know.
  22. ive broken 3 in the past month: 1- my nephews cheap daiwa rod. Got a snag, gave it a pull snapped in half 2- my brand new crucial which the guide caught in a cleat on my brothers boat and ripped off 3- a cumara which broke while pitching jigs in grass. Just snapped. no snag no nothing honest. braught it back to shimano and got a new one he said sometimes it happens. I am happy to have baught good shimano rods because i got a service center 15 minutes from my house and their warranty is amazing
  23. Anyone here fishing the berkely b1 in montreal, canada???
