  1. Good stuff right there. 2k is certainly achievable by December.
  2. Great morning at Lox today. I stumbled onto some decent fish out in the flats. The grass is pretty thick in some areas out there. Good fishing right now though. If you find one, odds are you'll find several more in the same area. There is a big floating island at the entrance of the north/south running canal right now. Comes up quick if you're running through there on plane. Just a heads up. The gates were open at the spillways. Water was getting pulled out pretty good. Be aware of it if you stop in front of one of them.
  3. Lol. Great fish. I don't need to be a legend. Can I just have the scraps you leave behind? I'm still trying to land a slob on the lake. Just ain't happening.
  4. Sony marine head unit with an Aux input for my phone. I use it fairly often. Most of the time it's sports talk or a country station. Otherwise I'm playing something on the phone. Been thinking about swapping it out for one of the small gauge sized radios and using the hole in the console where the head unit is as storage of some kind.
  5. Fish finders are what you attach to the end or your line. Better known as lures. Start looking on something like Google Earth. You'll start to get an idea of areas that look productive. Find out what types of local/seasonal patterns work in your neck of the woods and start there. Use your instincts. Be patient. You might not start jacking the fish up immediately. Just go out and have some fun. The fish will come as you learn more and more.
  6. I'm looking forward to getting back out there. I haven't been to Lox since the water was way down. I'm hoping my TM switch shows up tomorrow so I can get it installed. Offshore saltwater on Friday, hoping to hit the refuge on Saturday or Sunday. C'mon Mike, share those details. Whatcha got happening.
  7. To answer that easily, yes bass can and do get back there. Yes heavy braid is a must.
  8. Next on 7 News! (Insert overly dramatic music here) Man viscously slain by alligator at Loxahatchee. The only thing found was his boat and a poop stain on the base of a levee....
  9. Started running my first boat solo around 6 or 7. Used it to catch conch and lobster during the summers I spent in the Bahamas. Everything built up from there. Own four boats now, thinking about buying a small skiff to get back into some really skinny water flats fishing as well as upgrading to a new offshore boat. I've never bought a new totally custom rig before. I'm finally in a financial position where I can think about doing it. The options for new boats now are pretty darn mind blowing. My daughters have been driving my offshore boat (with help) since they were about four. You're well on your way to sliding down a slippery, yet very fun slope. Hope it works out well for you. Stay safe when you get it. You're going to want to get out and see what she can do.
  10. Biggest I ever got to was around 305-310. Dropped down to 265 and stayed there for a long time. I made some money doing it, not a ton though. Lol. It was fun. But it wasn't worth the potential long term risks like heart disease, etc etc. Now I'm roughly around 180 or so. Was down to 165 but I decided to add back a little mass. Right now at my current weight, I'm as lean as I was at 165. Successful diet right there.
  11. I've got several packs left still. While they aren't my favorite stick bait, they aren't bad either.
  12. Lol. When I was really powerlifting I was massive. I "almost" miss being that big. Sidewalk cracking size. Now I'm MUCH smaller & leaner. Still use some powerlifting training from time to time to keep my strength up, but it was just too much work to take in that many calories a day. It was almost like having a second full time job just shoveling food in. As much as I like eating, man that was a lot of bad burgers and fries.
  13. Roboworm EZ Shad Big EZ EZ Swimmer Rage Craw/Lobster
  14. Personally, if the waters up, I head into the flats before the canals. I just enjoy it more.
  15. Water levels should be getting up there at Lox. Will be harder to find fish. When you do though, you should be able to hit that area pretty good and have a good day. Most of the time at Lox, I head back to the ramp if I think I'm going to get hit by a storm. Easier to wait in the truck. I have had to beach the boat once or twice and hunker down though. Not fun.
  16. Smashed em over in Pelican Bay today. Nothing over 6, but fun. Mostly everything I caught was on the inside edge of the grass. Had to go pretty far into it to find fish. Beautiful morning today. It was as flat as could be. I ended up bailing early when the switch inside my TM died. 15 dollar part stops an 800 dollar motor cold.
  17. Gotta either wrap the spool in some electrical tape, or back it up with some cheap mono. The braid needs something to bite onto.
  18. I ended up at Holiday on Sunday. Had some fun catching fish on horny toads earlier in the morning. Nothing crazy though. Somewhere around 20 pounds. Bite turned off for me around 10:30 - 11:00. Had some guy offering me his shiners because he wasn't even getting hit on those. Went home to beat out the afternoon storms. Didn't feel like driving north to get caught in the rain. I woke up early on Saturday to booming storms over me and said screw it. I'm planning on Lox or the Lake this weekend. Water levels are on the rise. Almost 13.5 ft and rising. Get your motor issues fixed, Mike?
  19. Drinking isn't against the rules for me, within limits of course. Littering on the other hand is a big no no for me. Accidents do happen. We've all had stuff blown out of a boat. But to intentionally toss something over the side is just bad mojo.
  20. Oh man. That's awesome. Lol
  21. How much newer is "newer?" If it's still under warrantee, I'd bring it into your dealer.
  22. Bobber stops. Brand doesn't matter. They all work. Or I'll use a rubber peg it. Sometimes both.
  23. Can I have a lifetime supply of one ounce plus tungsten flippin weights instead? I hate paying for those darn things... Otherwise I'd probably go with a Gambler Big EZ
  24. I'll put this as simply as I can. Diet > any workout plan. You can lose fat literally by sitting on the couch. It all boils down to math. Calories in versus calories out. Figure out how many calories your body needs to maintain your current weight. Add or subtract a couple hundred to either lose or gain weight. Ideally you don't want to lose or gain more than two pounds a week. With that being said, if you like to eat, find something that will keep you active. Activity equates to calorie loss. Resistance training will yield the most eye appealing results. Some form of cardio is always beneficial to the cardiovascular system. How do I know? A couple of years ago I was 265-270. Right now I'm sitting at roughly 175-180. I've dropped to 165 and am trying to add weight. My metabolism has changed so much that it is VERY difficult for me to gain weight. I eat like an absolute monster now. I probably spend more money in food over a week for just myself than most small families. If you can't go to a gym, there are literally tons of body weight excersices that you can do at home with spending little to no money. Whatever you decide to do, find something that you enjoy doing. If you don't like it, you won't do it. As long as you have the willpower, you can achieve your goals, whatever they may be. Having goals is extremely important. Set something realistic and shoot for it. Once you get there, set a new one and drive on. It's 8:30 and I need to go have my third meal of the day.
