  1. Agreed. I got a giggle at the fact that after the press conference today, he jumped on Irsay's plane and landed at the Opa-Locka airport a few hours later. I'd love to see Wayne playing back down here in front of the home team again also.
  2. Hey, Jeff. One thing you may want to consider is removing your phone number and other personal info when allowing anybody to take a look at your resume. Generally speaking, that's not a wise choice in this day and age.
  3. Cheapskate. I've been considering a 32 Roadster for a while. I know they're ridiculously overdone now, but I just love the lines of those cars. Would be a fun project to work on with my dad and then just hand him the keys after.
  4. Thats a pretty darn good deal for a Stella. I wish I could find some of the larger SW models for some snapper fishing at that price.
  5. Something dark Something light Something moderate Something flashy I've never been in a situation where I've "had" to have a specific color. Just pick the appropriate color shade based on clarity.
  6. I believe so. Don't quote me on it though, I don't have any sitting in front of me at the moment.
  7. No doubt about it. Though I try not to use them unless I'm going very heavy. For some reason crimps seem to be a target for critters like cuda and kings. Most guys I know try as hard as possible to not use crimps on the reefs. If I'm trolling offshore though, you bet I'm crimping heavy leaders.
  8. Thinking about the thread for the guys who can't watch a lot of the shows on TV made me remember something I stumbled onto a few weeks ago. "http://vimeo.com/channels/ardentsbassbattles" Not the entire season for the year, but there's a bunch of full shows. They've fairly regularly added more. Started out with just two episodes. Enjoy. Edited to add: Remove the quotes around the link. For some reason trying to direct link it here changes it to a media file and won't link properly.
  9. More expensive as well as harder to tie. Take your time when tying knots with it. Make sure whatever knot you tie seats perfectly. I LOVE using heavier fluoro leaders when I'm out on my salt boat. Completely changed the way I'm able to deep drop for grouper on wrecks.
  10. I was wondering the exact same thing as I just flipped over to espn.
  11. Personally I use fluoro or Hybrid for most of my worms and jigs now. I'll use braid when I get into really thick grass. I was a braid only person for a long time. One thing I eventually learned about braid over time is that when you have some slack in the line, you tend to lose most of the sensitivity. It's fantastic if you can keep a tight line all the time. With wind, that can start to get troublesome.
  12. More than likely it was a mudfish. They're very easy to get mixed up with a snakehead. As far as I know, they haven't made it into Lox yet. Glad you guys got out and had some fun. Lox is a d**n fun place to fish.
  13. I think that one flew over your head a bit. I'm betting he meant a Legend bass boat.
  14. The BPS cranking stick is d**n hard to beat for the price. I've owned several and never had a complaint with them. I've still got one left on my rack that sees pretty regular use. I prefer a shorter rod for shallow cranks. I've used the 7' MH for quite a while with squarebills and traps. It definitely can handle larger and deeper lures as well.
  15. Definitely a sexy ride. Waiting for my turn to drive one around down here. Not something I'd ever buy right now though. Would make dropping the kids off at school a major PIA. Though the looks you'd get from all of women could be worth it..... I'm still eyeballing a Panamera. No Ferarris in my near future.
  16. Great fish right there, Shane! Now those are some gorgeous southern Florida fish.
  17. I just generally wave my rod around crazily and hope for the best. In all honesty, I try to keep the tip down when I feel a fish coming up. Works for Tarpon, works for bass just as much.
  18. Got my rods in a week or so ago. Haven't been able to give them each a good full day of fishing yet. Have managed a pair of short trips out though. All I can say is, "Wow." Those DX rods are really something else. What really impresses me is the 705cb. That is one sick rod. I've never used a crank rod quite like it before. Absolutely fantastic. Wasn't cheap, but d**n was it ever worth it. I'm feeling stuff on the bottom I never knew existed. Everything is just crisp feeling. Totally satisfied with each of them. Mike, I'll give you a shout at some point in the week. I'm finishing up this project mid week. Can't wait to go out and really break these in.
  19. My daughters first and foremost. Everything else in life is just an added bonus. A few of those bonuses: My awesome job. Having a good relationship with my brother at said job. Pepsi. Fishing. Getting home tonight and finding a PVC tube sitting on the front porch with a few new rods inside of it. Music.
  20. Or, instead of saying they need to learn how to launch or load a boat, you could offer to help them. If they still take as long after, then you can blame yourself.
  21. I'm the same way. I eat what's generally considered a well balanced and healthy meal. I just get nailed by the junk food. I haven't really put on much weight in the last few years, I haven't lost any either though. With the physical work I do at the office, I get in plenty of exercise. I just need to eliminate some of the bad junk I'm putting in. I'm horrible whenever I get home and plant myself to watch a little tv. Simple fact is, I'm a big dude with a big frame. I'm never going to be 150 pounds. My (lofty) goal is to drop 30 pounds by my birthday in August. I know what I need to do, I just need to do it. Thankfully I learned how to really take care of myself when I was a gym rat in the Army. I just got very lazy after I got out of the service. I'm hoping to retire early in another 7 to 10 years and would like to be in good physical condition to really enjoy it.
  22. Good luck, Doug. I've been cleaning up my act lately myself. I'm doing it for my kids as much as myself. I need to get back to my pre children healthier days. I've knocked out a lot of the bad crap that I've been putting into myself over the last few years. My last two really bad things to kick are smoking and soda. I've cut way, way back on the smokes. Soda is going to be a rough one for me..... Needs to be done so I can make sure I'm around as long as possible for my daughters.
  23. Looks like Tharp was the only person to really get into them today. Another 20+ pound bag. 101 and change total. He said he was flipping an 1 1/2 ounce tungsten pegged to a beaver style bait in black and blue. Dropping it into the nastiest stuff he could find. Dude is unreal on Okeechobee.
  24. That's a Gheenoe. I think Shane has a video or two posted here of it. Having seen it in person, it's a sweet ride. With the motor he's got on the back, that boat really gets up and moves when you hit the throttle.
