  1. Simply put, the hotter the better for Peacocks. Just sucks to be fishing for an extended time in this heat. They're out and schooled up on my lake in Broward. Great fun for the kids with a bucket of shiners. You can go through a dozen of them in about 10 minutes right now.
  2. X2 I'm far more concerned about Snakes down here than anything. Everywhere you go you may not find gators. Everywhere you go, there are snakes. Its just a question of whether you got it PO'd or not. Plus we've got Zombies....
  3. If you can stand the heat, the saltwater bite has been great this week. Lots of fish to be caught right now on the reefs as well as offshore. My deep freezer is packed once again. The next few days at the marinas should be much nicer now that most of the people have left with mini season ending. Catch the tides right, set out a few blocks of chum in 40 to 80 FOW and you'll load the boat with snapper in no time. Dolphin are out there also. Found a good school yesterday. Smallest fish was about an 8 pounder with most in the 12 range. Great table size. There are still some sailfish around, had to put up the kites and live bait to get them going though. Awesome fun on lighter spinning tackle.
  4. Glad to see things moving along Mike and Robert. Well done you two. Wish you guys all the success in the world. Loved hearing everything about ICAST when I spoke to you last time, Mike. Just awesome. Should have said you were down in the Keys, Robert. I just came back with the boat loaded with lobster and fish. Lots of stuff to get caught down there right now. Been a good week. Mike, stop catching all the big fish out at Lox.
  5. Just follow the instructions on the Magic Eraser package. Just a little water, squeeze the excess out, and you're good to go. Best tool there is for cleaning the cork on a rod. Hands down.
  6. Take your pick of the Roboworm ST's. Was at Dicks earlier with Bassn Blvd and scored a few packs for $1.23 a pop. I'm almost wishing I had bought more of them. Lol Colors I like: Aaron's Magic Aaron's Magic Red & Black Flake Margarita Multilator Green Weenie Ehlrer's Edge Honestly though, all of Robos colors will catch fish. I just happen to have a BUNCH of those colors on hand at the moment, so that's what I like right now.
  7. Pretty sure Mudhole sells it. Cabelas does, or used to. Jann's Netcraft might as well. I'd buy from them before ebaying it. You don't want to risk getting some old, or fake product to use on your nice expensive rods do you?
  8. I'll echo what RM mentioned. U40 cork sealer. It's worth couple of bucks to order some.
  9. I think I've tried them all. From a purely weightless texas rig aspect, it's the Senko for me. Nothing catches fish quite like those things. I've tried basically every other brand (Gambler, SK, Yum etc etc). If you're talking about a weighted texas rig, drop shot, or some other presentation, it's almost a crap shoot at that point. They all do basically the same thing then.
  10. Doug is setting up a close encounter with the skunk ape...I know it!
  11. Doug, we've been trying to hit that pit with each for at least a year or two now....And you up and let somebody buy it. I'm ashamed of you, sir!
  12. No problem. Just try to get a good match on the color. I've found that particular one I posted is pretty close. Just a bit lighter. You won't notice it after using the rod. It lasts a long darn time as well.
  13. Ask and you shall receive.
  14. Suspended fish for sure. What kind of fish is another story entirely. Definitely a little drop in the sensitivity, plus I'd probably bump the Colorline up a little. You won't get an arch unless a fish moves through the entire cone. Looking at that picture, I'd say you were either sitting still and marking a school that was moving below you, or you were idling and ran across them. Definitely some type of fish no matter what though.
  15. Ooh. I may have to order me a few grass jigs soon. That's a stout hook right there.
  16. Very cool, Mike. Glad everything looks to be working out for you and Robert. Having seen the product you guys are working on, I can't blame the guys that are interested. Definitely going to be a good seller in the near future. Wish I could have made it up there to hang out a bit with you guys. I'm stuck down here in the middle of a putting together a giant proposal for Fiat. Can't wait to hear how everything worked out once you guys get back into town.
  17. Gotta love them Bull Sharks.
  18. If I'm keeping my fish to eat, they get put I'm the box on ice. Certain species I'll cut and bleed out. No, it's not because I care about the poor little fishes feelings, it's because I want to make sure I get a better quality meat. If I'm not keeping them, take a couple of pictures, revive and vent if necessary, and send them swimming.
  19. All you're doing is slowing down the spool. Even SHIMANO will tell you that. See what I did there?
  20. Shoulda seen my latest TW order. Seven or eight shiny new Hudds to screw with. Would have been more if I jumped on the 68 specials when they got released again.
  21. X2 First thing I thought about was weightless soft plastic jerkbaits. I use a similar rod for ripping traps out the top of submerged grass. Works like a charm.
  22. Sounds like a pretty fun day all in all. Made a few bucks and caught a boatload of fish. Same you lost that five though. What can you do? That's fishing. Happens to us all. Only fourth place though, Bruce? . Lol. Just jerkin your chain. Keep it up man.
  23. I've been absolutely stroking Largemouth lately on ripbaits in the 8 to 10 foot range. Baits like the Pointer 78XD and the Staysee 90 V3. Both in the Ghost Minnow color. Nothing huge. A handful of threes and fours, with countless dinks mixed in. Fish are all hitting it when paused for 3 to 5 seconds. The bite has slowed down a bit on them though. The Peacock bite is going off right now with the warmer temps. Pick just about any bait that's flashy and moves very quickly and you'll probably get bit. Slow rolling, and I mean slow rolling, swimbaits like the 6" Hudd is still picking up an occasional better quality Largemouth also. Weedless Shads and Grass Minnows are an almost guaranteed bite right now as well. Both of those are producing smaller fish, but fun nonetheless.
