  1. Good. Only about an hour drive from here. Give or take a few minutes. Never realized that Lox was actually that close.
  2. I "think" this is it. It's the only info I could find about a ramp on Lox Rd. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. http://www.floridaairboattoursinc.com/directions.htm
  3. Spot removers are great jigheads. You posting that actually reminded me that I need to pick up a few more before too long. 10lb is probably fine, several people like 6-8. I've never had an issue going between 8 or 10.
  4. You and me both. Just went out in the garage and swapped out some braid between reels. I realized I had lighter braid on a heavier rod and vise versa. Didn't make much sense.
  5. Easy things to check are the float or the arm. The arm inside my tank was a little cocked out of position and the tank would never read correctly. I'd put in 150 - 200 bucks worth of fuel and it'd show a quarter tank. Hopefully it's an easy thing to fix for you and not something electrical.
  6. Good lord, replied as I was typing my last one. That works for me. I can come up a bit earlier if you need a hand swapping batteries.
  7. From the way it looks, South FLA and Piscicidal, you two have the choice between myself and Krzkev. I'm good with either one of you, just let me know. Why do I feel like I'm the last kid getting picked to play dodgeball......again. Darn childhood memories. Either way, give me a shout. I'll be bringing a 94 QT cooler of ice if anybody needs some.
  8. Don't even worry about it, Glades. Unfortunately for all of us, work has to come before fishing. It's one of those needed evils that gets in the way of fun for everybody. Just think of it this way, I'd much rather be employed with the economy the way it is than be able to do whatever I wanted day in and day out. Working hard just makes fishing that much more enjoyable.
  9. One of them is now sitting on a Crucial. Another is on a Daiwa rod, a third is on a Pinnacle rod, the fourth is on a crankin stick.
  10. Can't beat that. Gotta love when a company has solid customer service like that. It's a shame that more companies aren't that easy to deal with.
  11. So I had a break off earlier today, right at my leader connection. I figured that this was as good as a time to try out the Alberto knot that RW has suggested for a while know. Takes me a little longer to tie it, primarily because it's new to me. I'm really impressed with the strength of this knot compared to the uni-uni connection. It's also a far smaller knot. For those of you who haven't tried it, do it. You really may be surprised with it in the end. Link to the diagram: http://www.stripersonline.com/Pages/Articles/article_arby_albertos_knot.shtml
  12. That swelling on those red eyes is pretty awesome. I've never seen that before. Tie one on and see how it fishes... ;D
  13. Pretty cool old article. I love seeing old stuff like that.
  14. That Lowrance unit sure looks interesting. Tiny little transducer on it. My wallet is already telling me no......
  15. Ive only caught that show a couple of times and cant say I can really stomach it. Locally theres a show on FSN(Fox Sports Network) called "Fishing with Johnny Johnson". Show is ok,but the laugh of this guy is as bad as,if not worse than Jimmy Houstons. The Most annoying laugh at 12:53. I know the guy is excited but C'MON!!! Wow. I mean Jimmy Houston has one annoying laugh, that dudes is just ridiculous. Reminds me of some of the horses I dealt with when I was in the Army.
  16. I personally haven't. I've heard that they're great rods. The Crucial just felt a little more comfortable in my hand.
  17. Great picture Snook. I grabbed a few decent slot sized snook late yesterday when I was checking out the boat down in Homestead. Went over to Black Point and tossed the classic DOA shrimp next to a spillway and it was game on. I almost forgot how much fun they are to catch. Almost made me want to get my snook stamp again.
  18. Sounds like this is just another reminder to have that PFD on while the big motor is going. Feel bad for the families involved. Sad story.
  19. List updated http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1275521210/75#75
  20. Keep an eye on the hook keepers. I'm generally very careful with my gear, stored inside, etc etc. I've just seen in the past what rust can do. I sanded both of them down, rust free, put a rust inhibitor on them, and it still came back. I could have had some of the first run of rods, maybe they swapped them to stainless afterwards. Who knows. It was just something I didn't want to deal with anymore.
  21. Phew, Kendall. I'd need an awesome reason to go down there. Hungry Bear in that area makes some seriously good subs though....hrmmmm......
  22. Thats more realistic, fourbizz.
  23. Whoa, thats a bit ridiculous right there.
