  1. I'll mail you some. It's quite delicious.
  2. I watched the video of these on TW's website. They look pretty cool. Definitely concerned about the durability on them. I'm also really wondering about the price.
  3. Agreed. I was reading an article on Bassmaster that said after last year he left the stage and just sat in his truck for a couple of hours with his head on the steering wheel. Can't really blame the guy.
  4. BOAT: Break Out Another Thousand
  5. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1170689666 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1264137348 ------------------------------------------- From my experience, Shimano makes a better quality product. Plus you can't beat the warranty. Abu Garcia is finally starting to put out some newer, better quality rods. The Revo series of reels have always been regarded as a very solid reel. Well priced and very easy to use. So who knows what they may come out with soon. Thats gotta be the first time I've heard somebody say the Citica "sucks" though. I don't use one, but I've heard nothing but good things about them.
  6. Direct answer: Yes and no. If you know the body of water well, then having electronics isn't nearly as big of a help as they are on unfamiliar waters. If you're vertically dropping the lure, having electronics can really help you pinpoint fish or structure to drop on. If you're covering a broader area, using the cast and retrieve method like Matt mentioned, the electronics aren't all that important. If you've got them, use them to your advantage. If you don't understand your gear though, it doesn't matter what you've got in the boat. You need to be able to distinguish fish from rocks, or fish from weeds, etc etc.
  7. Gotta love friends that spell stuff wrong on purpose...lol I'll send you one later on tonight. My SnD perks are 3,4,5. Mose bang for the buck right there. Even better that they carry over from round to round.
  8. Went out this morning, about 7:30 to noon. Wanted to get out earlier before the bite shut down. Didn't get a lot of fish, but I did get very good size. I probably had about a 18-20 pound limit. One of those was a six and change. Drop shot caught the best fish, most of them came on a 12" worm worked up one side of an offshore hump, then back down the other. Water goes 30 foot to about six foot. It's a big pile of rocks and dirt that the dredges must have left behind. Caught absolutely nothing flipping in the pads/grass, and nothing on topwaters. I probably missed the topwater bite though because I got out late. Saw lots of fish feeding on the surface, couldn't get one of them to hit a lure to save my life.
  9. Gotta love those smaller Tarpon on light tackle. They are such awesome fish. Those little ponds and canals off of the Turnpike are like gold mines. I think I found a spot that I can launch my boat into one of the western canals that run along the length of the Turnpike up here in Broward. Going to have to cruise down in the area one day to see how feasible it is.
  10. Unless I'm playing search and destroy, I usually do something like predator, harrier, emergency airdrop. I really have no need to go chasing after a nuke.
  11. Gotta love that place. Even better that it's so close to home. I'm itching to get back out there to hook into that big fish I lost last week. It's just like Piscicidal told me, a mini Okeechobee.
  12. The problem is that some of the frogs take on so much water after a few twitches, they become pointless as a topwater. I've got one that will almost completely fill up and sink like a rock. Kind of defeats the purpose of a topwater lure. I've never thought about c-rigging one, thats an interesting thought.
  13. Fantastic fish! Way to go!
  14. The way the economy is right now, finding a used boat like Catt said is probably the smartest choice. You can find some very well maintained notable branded boats for very few bucks right now. Craigslist, etc etc. I know people who have picked up some good used boats from iBoats as well. Just search around for a while. When you find something you like, try to get all of the associated paperwork for the boat (maintenance records). Try to get it out on the water for a test drive if at all possible. Make sure you have it checked out by a qualified marine mechanic as well. You don't want to drop a few grand on a boat with a private seller to find out that you need to have a major engine overhaul done.
  15. You can probably find a Stradic on ebay for around that price if you search enough. A Sahara 2500 is right in the 70-80 dollar price point brand new. Great little spinning reel. I've got one that I abuse a lot and it just keeps on working.
  16. Now those I may want a few of....you jig tease...
  17. A few Shimano's. Already have the ez-keeper on them
  18. Wow, thats horrible for Martens. Probably felt like he got kicked in the wobbly bits. Heck, it probably still feels like that. What a bummer.
  19. XPS 14 lb has been very good to me. Seaguar Abrazx in 12lb has also worked out nicely.
  20. Sorry Bro I can not steal them from Shane since I am the guy giving them to him ;D Oh, well in that case....share the wealth! I've heard nothing but good things about those monsters.
  21. You should be fine with a MH.
  22. Man, those look fantastic. Posts like this really make me want to get my airbrush out and attempt to paint some cranks. Those really do look fantastic.
  23. For 250 bucks you can pick up an Eagle FishMark 640c. Decent unit for the cash. Good resolution, etc etc. I've got one on my Jon and have no problems being able to read bottom type, grass, fish, etc etc...
  24. I believe he said 499 in the video. The basic Elite 5x color model with no GPS is around 450.
