I have the BPS Extreme Combo and like it. I have owned several Extreme rods in the past and never had any issues with them. This is my first BPS reel and so far I like it.
I like rods from BPS and have owned several and never had a complaint with any of them. I always buy them when they are on sale and think I got a great deal. If the other rod companies would offer their rods 40 to 50% off a couple times during the year like BPS does I would try them out. I fish for relaxation and fun so I do not need the top of the line equipment.
Lets add one more to that minority group. I buy them on sale and feel like I have an excellent rod at that price. The BPS PQ rod is a higher quality rod and is also on sale for $40.00 off.
i try to stay out of these threads because opinion will get posters rods they dont like.
good luck, let us know what you end up with.
Or it can help someone with additional selections to investigate to make a better choice.
I recently bought the BPS Extreme combo on sale and so far I am satisfied with the reels performance. The Pro Qualifier is a better performing reel from all the reviews I have read.
To make time so I can go fishing every weekend next year and some week days after work. If I can get this done then everything else should fall in place somewhere.
I bought an Extreme bait casting combo on sale from BPS for $99.00 about 3 weeks ago. I have Spiderwire Stealth line on it and so far it has performed flawlessly. I have caught 2 bass over 5 lbs each with it and with no issues.
