  1. I wouldn't go as far as say Ky Lake is underrated at all. I personally know several of the Elite pros, KVD for one and on national Television during the classic, he was asked by Sanders and Zona about the lake he looked forward to fishing this year...the answer....You guest it....Kentucky Lake. Most guys who are underwater structure fishermen/fisherwomen who like ledges , drops , etc.... love Ky Lake. I will agree with you that the lake doesn't have the 12 to 15 pounders like some of the Texas and California Lakes has but day in day out this lake ( Ky Lake ) will out produce any of them. Just right now, the lake is divided into two sections....from the Blood River Area South, it is taking anywhere from 22 to 29 pounds per 5 bass to win first place or even place in the money. North from Blood River to Ky Dam, It is taking around 18 to 22 pounds to win and so on. Ky Lake is as HOT as it has been in many many years and should be this way for the next 2 years or so according to the TWRA Biologist.
  2. Do NOT get anywhere behind one of these BIG barges, the undertow will toss a boat under before you know it....especiall if it is alluminum. Just be careful and yes the rollers behind those boats are kinda tough. Be careful!!
  3. Just wanted to say a big "Thank You" for the fellowship and hospitality shown towards me today at the KenLake State Park Lodge from everyone there including Big O, Glenn, J J and the many others. Folks, what you do by doing this each year is really SOMETHING special and memories that will last a lifetime. I hope and pray each one of you catch lots of Kentucly Lake Bass, Catch a LARGE time and enjoy the fellowship with each other. Maybe sometime down the road, we shall meet up again. Anytime anyone of you ever want to come back and fish either Reelfoot Lake or Kentucky Lake in the Paris Tennessee / Landing area, just a e-mail and phone call away. Til Then... May GOD BLess and set the hook hard!! Brent Callicott ( strikekinger ) Strike King Regional Pro Staff Union City Tennessee 38261 731-446-3678 calli1@charter.net
  4. That is on the State Parks grounds I believe? I have not registered for anything and really was just wanting to come and sit in on Steve Parks Rage Tail presentation on Monday night and then I will have to head back home. What time is the dinner time and hwo will that work. I just trying to find my way around a little not knowing much about what is going on. Sorry, I am new to the board but not new to fishing. Thanks
  5. I just might do that on Monday afternoon. I am to meet Steve Parks ( Big O ) up there for a chat. I am on the Regional pro Staff at Strike King and I know Steve. Where are you folks meeting when someone comes in a speaks during your stay?
  6. New to the site here and forum.... I would like to pass along that the posted above in yellow about Kentucky Lake is VERY True. PLEASE treat the lake with respect. For sure if the winds get out of the North or South much over 15 MPH, she get kinda nasty especially in the main river channel. Also, everything that look wide open and open water is not. Some areas have stumps, logs and shallow bars. Just last year during the Stren Series, I fished as a non-boater and the winds reached 35 to 40 mph and the tournament was NOT canceled...especially on day 3. I crossed with my partner up close to the Ky Dam area going through the canal to Barkley Lake and once we were in the middle of Ky Lake / main channel area, the swells were like 8 feet....yes 8 feet if not closer to 10. Ky Lake runs North/South and winds really get going there. I am from this area and fish the lake often. Just treat everything with respect, use common sense and everything will be ok. Have a good week !!!!! It's going to be very cool.
