  1. Went out on Ossipee on thursday and caught a 4 pounder on a swim senko. I also caught a couple of dinks on a spinnerbait. Starting to get a idea that these Maine bass love senkos.
  2. I have a lower gear housing that got smacked on a rock and cracked. My buddy JB welded the hole and it was holding. Now it has started to leak. Can it be welded with no ill effects. By the way it is a 1987 Mercury 115. We also can not get the starter to pop. It will spin but not pop up to engage. I think there is only one solenoid and if it spins shouldn't also pop. It was popping the first time we took it out this year but my buddy messed with the wiring and now it has stopped popping. Is it the starter/solenoid/wiring? Any and all answers would be appreciated. Thanks!
  3. Webt on Arrowhead again tonight for a couple of hours and caught 2 largemouths (1 was close to 2 pounds) and 2 pickerels. Caught them all on a pumpkin swim senko. I tried spinnerbaits, swimbaits, crankbaits and the only thing they would bite is the senko.
  4. I fished it the other day and only caught 2 on a pumpkin senko. I seen alot of bass but most were cruising or locked on beds and were not interested in any offerings. Most were under docks or in the backs of coves. I fished Arrowhead the other night and we were catching them on pumpkin senkos also. We hooked up with 6 in a matter of an hour. Thanks for all the tips and I will post some more on here as I fish it some more.
  5. How did you do Hogclipper? Any tips would be great. Thanks!
  6. Was she on a bed or just cruising? What lake did you get her at and what color is that senco? I hope I get one like that sunday (first tournament of the year)
  7. Here is my situation: I was driving along and seen the tell tale sign of a bass boat for sale (sitting near the road) so I stopped and talked to the owner about the boat. It is a 1988 18 foot procraft with a Mercury 150 Black Max on it. The upper end on it is shot (a loose nut got in the cylinder and ate the piston then shot it out the side of the case), so I was a little bummed, then he said he had another Mercury 150 x4 that the cylinders could be bored out and should be fine. My question is if I get them bored do I need new pistons or would they just put a bigger ring on the existing pistons? It is a sweet deal, the boat needs new carpet but that is it. It will come with 3 props (one is a $500 5 bladed prop), 2 Mercury 150 Black Max's, cover and all the electronics. It is a 1988 procraft 18 footer. What do you guys think about the motor and how much cash would it cost to get repaired? Thanks for any input.
  8. I was wondering if anybody has had any luck on Little Ossipee yet this year? What has worked for you in the past on this lake and what are the hot spots on the lake? I am new to Maine and that is the closest lake to me. Thanks!
  9. I went to Little Ossipee today and it was all thawed out. Saw a bunch of Loons but no bass. Good luck at Arrowhead.
  10. I like to drift and drag a Vemon watermellon with gold flake tube. Also I will drop shot a Poorboy goby. Good luck and wish I could still fish Erie, I will just have to make due with Champlain for now.
  11. I am a pretty proficient Lake Erie fisherman and have fished many tournaments on that lake (mainly Ohio). I guess you were fishing in PA for trophy only season. The standard measuring is mouth closed and tail closed completely. I never used a bent board before, I always use the flat Gator type. Good luck this year.
  12. I am new to the area of Saco Maine and I am looking for a club to join. I have talked a guy from the Saco Valley club and the rebel club. I was told there is a few clubs in the Saco area. I would like one that is a little more competitive and has a wide range of ages belonging to it. Any info would be great. Thanks!
  13. I just moved here from Ohio where I did tournaments but had to sell my boat before I came here. I would to start fishing tournaments again but do not have a boat yet (girlfriend say I have to wait till next year). Le tme know if you are interested and tell me a little about you and what tournaments you are looking at fishing. Thanks!
  14. I tried the Saco river on Wednesday but had no luck. I did not get out in a boat though. I did see 2 other boats launch while I was at Rotary park. One was an aluminum and the other was a triton. I do not know how they did though. Good luck I should be down there on sunday.
