  1. I was in the same boat as everybody else, when I was married I would often take my stepson and stepdaughter fishing with me,needless to say they got bored rather easily and I found that if I carried my telescoping crappie poles and a box of crickets when they got bored with my style of fishing we would take the poles and flip crickets in the treetops. The crickets will help to bring fish to their poles and they WILL catch fish and that's what we all want to do anyway.I am divorced now but both of her kids will call me every year wanting to sneak off and go fishing with me. ;)
  2. I don't know abut the rivers there in the panhandle but I have fished lakes Talquin and Jackson and when I go down from Bama I usually fish with large golden shiners(6" )Try ditching the mullet and using the shiners they are a natural forage base for the lakes mentioned. Also try large prop. baits and spinnerbaits late in the evening in Talquin and scum frogs in the slop at jackson.I caught my personal best out of Jackson 11lbs 13ozs.Good luck and hope this helps.
  3. What type of reel do you have automatic or manual wind,if automatic you just press the lever located at the top of the reel,if manual just use the reel handle.I personally don't reel my line in especially when fighting a big fish I just pull the line with my hands and let it fallaround my feet but that is the way I was taught.
