  1. I find 6th Sense crankbaits deflect off "cover" better than other crankbaits. My #1 is the Movement 80X.
  2. Absorption: the process or action by which one thing absorbs or is absorbed by another. "shock absorption" Highly overlooked aspect of fishing lines. 20 lb line & below Big Game is the best at absorbing shock.
  3. Ain't but one way to brew it.
  4. Ain’t but 2 😉
  5. It stared for me back in the 70s when I use to make lures, one night I decided to stuff a bullet weight into a rubber skirt. It was so difficult I gave up after only making a half a dozen. This little trick when paired with a craw worm won me many a tournament. Scott's Marina on the Texas side of Toledo Bend is a one room building, a small wharf big enough for a couple jon boats, and a launch. Scott sold Community Coffee which is the #1 coffee of Cajuns and why I hung around. He had maybe a dozen packs of worms, 4-5 spinner baits & traps. On one particular morning I noticed some new lures lying on the counter, I picked one up & the little card read "Big Red's Flying Jig". Inside was the lead head of a spinner bait, a skirt, & a 3/0 offset hook with a hitch hiher attached. I bought em all! This was the perfect answer to putting a skirt on a bullet weight!
  6. Down here it's called a "Texas Rigged Jig" & has been around long before skirted "punch" rigs. Don't know what @A-Jay calls his.
  7. @JHoss Yes sir but it will not have the egg swollen belly. Some bass are simply built long & skinny while others are short & fat. A typical marsh bass down here a generally short & fat. Both of these bass weighed 11 lbs 3 oz., mine was post spawn from a marsh, the other is from Oklahoma.
  8. Skinny fish could simply mean post spawn.
  9. IDC...I don't care 😉
  10. C'est Fini 😉
  11. I've broken 1 & that was 10-12 years ago. Bank fishing, standing under a cypress tree, could only side arm cast & set hook side arm. Caught a 6# bass about 20' from my feet, calmed her down enough to lip her. Should have grabbed the line instead of using the rod. Told myself, not a good idea, self said hold my beer I got this. Problem was I don't drink & I didn't have this. Did land the bass!
  12. Berkley Big Game Abrasion resistance & shock absorption
  13. It's a non-issue for me Cold water temperatures down here doesn't last much more than a month before it starts warming. Bout midway through the bass start moving into early pre-spawn.
  14. @gimruis Can't speak for anyone else but another day with my Dad is a win. From @JHoss comment his Dad has quite a bit of experience & is highly coachable.
  15. I would give anything to fish one time with my Dad.
  16. "If you worry about what might be...and wonder what might have been...you will ignore what is."
  17. @Aaron_H I can do it easily sitting on the front seat in my jon boat. The reasoning for wanting the additional depth is because if the bass want a 1/2 oz profile & not a larger one or yo-yoing.
  18. 3 Advantages Able to fish year round Sam Rayburn Toledo Bend 3 Disadvantages 3 ruptured disc
  19. Down here a H&H Sparkle Bettle on a lead head is killer for Speckle Trout, Redfish, & Flounder. Now it's called Damiki Rig
