  1. Even with FFS next after location is timing; just because you don't get bit does not mean the bass aren't there or you tied on the wrong lure. It could just be they simply aren't feeding. . To consistently catch bass is a process of elimination & duplication. Eliminate patterns & waters that are non-productive, & duplicate patterns and waters that are productive.
  2. I've 2 things with FFS 1. I can catch bass with FFS 2. I can get skunked with FFS
  3. Joyeux noël, c'est christmas dans la Louisiane
  4. I never log off 😉 Guess I need to check that
  5. Growing up in the marshes/swamps of Southwest Louisiana I've spent many hours pushpoling a pirogue. Don't take long to figure out a Jon Boat fit in the bed of a pickup truck, a outboard laid in the bottom of the boat, could be launched anywhere, & was way more comfortable. Got a trailer now, bigger outboard, & a trolling motor.
  6. Once a year? I bank fish quite often & I ain't talking pond with well manicured lawns. I'm walking through chest high vegetation, up under cypress trees, knee deep marsh mud. I pay special attention to the worm gear area after each trip, making sure its free of any dust & dirt. I'll give the thumb bar area a little love.

  8. Creme Scoundrel started it but that has grown into plastics of various sizes & shapes. Give me a piece of plastic, a 3/0 straight shank hook, a 3/16 oz weight & I will be happy, happy, happy!
  9. My nephew 😉 While night fishing I heard a commotion followed by a loud splash. I turn to look towards the back deck, all I could see was a butt & two legs sticking up in the air. Don't remember what he was doing but he was behind the console leaning over the side. The gunnel was wet from dew, his hand slipped causing him to go over. Grabbing the gunnel with both hands now he pulled himself up only to slip again. I never laughed so hard in my life & it got even funnier Monday when he got home. He was a Flight Engineer on AWACS plane & the doctor grounded him for a cracked rib.
  10. My #1 "rule" is to keep an open mind Our water temperatures will drop down into the mid to lower 40s. Looking at the water temperatures one would think smaller lures & slower presentations. The most productive lures down here is a 3/4 oz Jig-n-Craw, a 3/4 oz Rinky Dink, a 5/8 oz Rat-L-Trap
  11. One of the "rules" of fishing during the winter is to fish the northwest shore because its exposed the the sun the longest. Pick one 😉
  12. The bass are always biting somewhere, our job is to find somewhere. The only "lull" I see is in my ability to locate actively feeding fish.
  13. SPRO Dean Rojas Bronzeye Frog 65 comes in 52 colors. Why? To catch the fisherman, a bass has never put a penny in SPRO's pocket.
  14. The issue I have with water temperatures is we're reading surface temperatures. Bass don't live on the surface. Learn the structure, learn the cover, learn the baitfish.
  15. Or read the comments 😉 I've said it & others as well Didn't write title
  16. I fish the same structure/cover, with the same techniques as I do during the daytime. Bass do not morph into a new creature just because the sun set. Their food source doesn't morph into a new creature...throw the same colors as you would during day light. Buckeye Lures G-Buzz 1/4 oz black on black Follow up with a Fluke
  17. Again! This did not happen during a tournament. Ben submitted a 13#+ bass to the Texas ShareLunker Program.
  18. I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was.
  19. Strike King's Hack Attack Fluorocarbon Jig 3/4 oz Black-n-Blue, Rage Tail Craw Blue Sapphire Creek channels & drains 😉
  20. When he submitted the ShareLunker Bass is when realized his license was expired. Part of the form for submitting the bass is a valid license #, didn't have one & submitted it anyway. Personally I find the whole thing hilarious 😂
