  1. @Tennessee Boy I can't verify it as fact but I heard some were reading an article, "So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?" on bassresource.
  2. @Pat Brown It takes a rare breed of fisherman using simple techniques to perfection to consistently catch bass.
  3. Ya ain't sticking with the weed guard!
  4. IDK 😉 Research shows some bass are affected by the outboard, some are affected by the trolling motor, & some are affected by the first cast. Depth of the water had little to do with it. Watch this series of videos https://youtu.be/PYYmscMNg0E?si=EjyJtNuGkUZTeELv
  5. Patience 😉 Some of us have fished a lifetime without a double digit.
  6. Ditch the heavy cover jig for a Hack Attack Flourcarbon Jig. Designed around a smaller diameter hook than the original Hack Attack Jig, the hook’s smaller diameter allows the hook to penetrate faster with less effort, so you still get solid hooksets despite the added stretch of fluorocarbon. I throw em on straight Big Game.
  7. Round here we call them "schoolie" bass, they're generally smaller bass. Chasing them is futile, they're busy eating shad & ignore most lures. Try a clear Tiny Torpedo, clear Pop-R, or clear Tiny Spook. Or your favorite in those categories but clear.
  8. Wasn't me, I don't even like worms
  9. This is why I don't put a pen to it. I keep about $1,000+/- in a Local Credit Union. I occasionally help a friend install granite & cultured marble. My biggest expense is Toledo Bend, I hate going for a day, its gotta be 3-4.
  10. Some old dude 😉
  11. I compared the HM40, HM85, & the TP1 Black. Ended up buying 3 TP1 Black only because my local tackle shop had them in stock.
  12. I prefer the Ultravibe Speed Craw over all of Zoom's chunks. More colors, easier to thread on a hook. I do use the Swimmin Chunk as a trailer for Johnson Spoon or Snagless Sally.
  13. @ol'crickety Sometimes it is as simple as being in the right place at the right time. Aiden caught this bass under the dock we're standing on. In the background is a boat launch. Aiden asked if I could tie a jig on for him, so I did. He took the rod flipped the jig under the dock. I just started to shake my head when he set hook. He had seen the bass before asking for the jig & had been watching videos about flipping docks. He said, I saw a dock, a bass, & figured all I need is a jig!
  14. @ol'crickety This one is 18.4#
  15. Anything Fish Chis caught!
  16. B.A.S.S. announces the creation of equipment standards related to new technologies that will impact anglers competing on the biggest stage in bass fishing. https://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/bass-ffs-9424.html
  17. @JayMac89 How Y'all Are Suggestions #1: Do a Google search with Hydrilla, Coontail, or Milfoil in the search box. Add bassresource.com to the end. #2: K.I.S.S. #3: If you're getting through with a 1/4-3/8 oz, 1/2-3/4 oz would be fine.
  18. @roadwarrior Merci Beaucoup 😉
  19. I find a hook that is too long impedes the action more than weight does. Owner Weighted Twistlock CPS Hook 3/0, 4/0, 5/0 1/16, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4 oz
  20. On Rayburn & Toledo all the guides & top tournament anglers have all switched back to "normal" lures. The hot lures right now are deep diving crankbaits, Carolina Rigs, & a Dropshot. Instead of looking for suspended bass or bass following schools of shad, they're targeting bass on or related to the bottom. They're use FFS to fish all the structure we've always fished.
  21. It's just a big ol chunk of plastic that big mama can't refuse.
  22. Yes sir 😉 Rayburn fishes differently than Toledo; our marshes fish differently than our swamps. I don't pay attention to Meteorologists, I go outside & pay attention to God. If I ain't on the water, I'm walking the shoreline 2-3 times a week. I can guarantee y'all "Seasons" are for us.
