  1. @TOXIC That's how it's done right there.
  2. Zen is intact 😉
  3. Pretty sure @WRB would agree, only if I could bring today's tackle.
  4. Down here somewhere around the middle of February we'll get a couple weeks of "warm" weather. This triggers an insane buzzbait bite. I substitute a Stanley Ribbit for the buzzbait.
  5. The only crankbaits I "burn" is a Rat-L-Trap & yes they are extremely deadly in cold water.
  6. Not only is the bass's metabolism down so is their food sources. All the Bluegill, Bream, Gizzard Shad, Threadfin Shad, ect are cold-blooded. Where the bass will located can be determined by the same daytime method...look for em.
  7. @Swamp Girl Actually its because in the late 70s there was a huge sign on Hwy 87 that read, Welcome to Toledo Bend Reservoir the Bass Fishing Capital of the World. Back then I was fishing 200/250+ days a year...I've read it! What I like is I can fish shallow or deep, there's every kind cover, there's every type of structure, & every technique will produce.
  8. Toledo Bend Reservoir the bass fishing capital of the world!
  9. A bass's metabolism is finally tuned to its circulatory system temperature which is the same as the surrounding water temperature. This means how fast the bass digest it's food not necessarily how active they are. In cold water their metabolism slows down, their brain slows down, so the bass slows down. But this doesn't mean the bass stops feeding, it simply means they do not have to feed as often. The opposite is true in warm water, the bass digests it's food quicker which requires it to feed more often. But we have to keep in mind bass are predators & will strike a lure when an opportunity arises. I've caught bass in the dead of winter when reeling in to make another cast
  10. I have a degree in the Philosophy of Science. All this research shows is how bass preceive colors as seen through human eyes & interpreted by a human brain. Similar does not mean same as!
  11. How bass preceive colors as seen by human eyes & interpreted by a human brain.
  12. Three Tap Theory as explained to me by Shaw Grigsby The first tap the bass has inhaled your lure. The second tap the bass has expelled your lure. The third tap is me tapping you on the shoulder asking why you didn't set hook!
  13. I always approach my intended target from casting distance. With FFS & Side Scan I no longer have to pass over structure to find where the fish are located. As for a quiet entry, one reason I don't peg my bullet weight is I wanna raise a little hell especially in grass.
  14. Spinnerbaits is when I step up to 20# Big Game. Early pre-spawn I'm pitching in buck brush which means no trailer hook. Buzzbaits means grass & again its 20#.
  15. Don't be afraid of the night...be afraid of what hunts in the night ?
  16. Praying for y'all 🙏
  17. In every "study" done showing how much each line stretches. One end of the line is attached to an immovable object while the other end is attached to a mechanical device that applies more pressure than my rod-n-reel ever will. To this dumb Coonass its just interesting information.
  18. Methyl Ethyl Ketone That some bad ass stuff right there!
  19. WD-40 was designed for the displacement of water in/on electrical "connections". It's a quick fix but wasn't intended to be a permanent fix. WD doesn't leave enough protective coating to last long after it dries. As for rust removal on hooks, if I can remove the rust by rubbing it between my fingers. If it takes more abrasion than that its out of here. Side note; salt is not necessary to cause corrosion. Any bare metal exposed to the environment will corrode.
  20. Kistler Helium HE7045HMH-7'0" Power:4.5 Heavy Medium-Heavy X-Fast
  21. I've fished braided Cotton, Dacron, Micron, Suture Material (Silk), Micro Dyneema®, Kevlar, Spectra, Gore-Tex, various types of monofilaments, copolymores, & fluorocarbon. I have 10 rod-n-reels Punch rod spooled with 65# Sufix 832 Superline Frog rod spooled with 50# Sufix 832 Superline The 8 others spooled with 15# Berkley Big Game. Am I 100% mono? I really don't like braid but fishing thick vegetation it's a must. I'm trying to like Fluorocarbon but it's negative qualities are hard to overcome. 35 double digit bass all caught on 15# Berkley Big Game. I think all of @WRB double digit were caught on monofilament. That's pretty good indorcement
