  1. Xpress no longer offers smaller "Jon" boat. Tracker & Alweld offers viable options
  2. Everyone has their own personal repertoire of confusion that works for them. Knowledge comes from our experiences, wisdom comes from an accumulation of the understanding of knowledge we rereceived over time.
  3. The speed at which you cover water is determined by you. You mentioned brush piles, some grass & docks. How about timber, rock or hard bottom. Gizzard Shad, I would try swimbaits, crankbaits, & jerkbaits.
  4. Ain't been to the Big Pond in a while. Fighting some health issues ☹️ Reports have been good
  5. Worm & Jig rods...absolutely! For years I had a matching pair of Shimano Crucial 6' 10" Medium Heavy X-Fast. Both had Shimano Calcutta 100A mounted on them. Both were spotted with 15# Berkley Big Game. Today my jig rod leans a little bit on the heavy side of medium heavy. While my worm rod is pretty medium heavy. How I determine this is totally by feel. When I buy a new Worm or Jig rod I have to mount a reel on it, string it up, & tie on a jig or t-rig. Yes I have issues ordering on line or having a rod built. 🙄
  6. Hand carved crankbaits
  7. @A-Jay Long ways to go & short time to get there! Once my transom hits water I start the outboard & turn the console electronics on. They stay on until I pull up back up to the launch.
  8. IDK 😉 I've hundreds over the years on a Smithwick Rattling Rogue. Doing excellent with a Bill Lewis Scope-Stik.

  11. Ran into this a couple times this year. Carolina Rig, 3/4 oz, & a Fluke style lure. Slow drag! We didn't kill em but we went from zero to a couple here & there.

  13. Personally I think it depends on what part of the country you live. Fall down south the fishing is great all day but our temperatures aren't nearly as cold.
  14. Florida or Texas? IDK 😉 As much as I love Texas I would probably pick Florida only because of the driving distance.
  15. Learn what structure is, how to truly identify it, interpret it, and then fish it effectively. Learn what the predominate prey species are in your lake and how that species relates to structure with each season...morning, noon, and night. Learn that next after location is timing; just because you don't get bite does not mean the bass aren't there or you tied on the wrong lure.
  16. Yamamoto 10” Ichi Worm down to a 5" Bonehead worm.
  17. Every bass is different Every bite is different Every hookset is the same In my opinion more fish are missed due to poor strike detection. Speed is key, how soon the strike is felt vs how soon till you sethook. My hooksets are slightly less than Hackney but I still rock the boat.
  18. What I've noticed is just because someone is fishing a "community" spot doesn't mean they know what they're doing. Heck I see guys getting skunked or only catching 2-3 with FFS 😅 Or guiding
  19. One Ton Jig! 😉
  20. Cinnamon Pepper Neon Junebug Laminate White Ice Merthiolate
