  1. I love every moment I get to spend fishing with one of my girls. Thanks to all.
  2. Heaven on earth! What a day, you had the fishing gods over your shoulder today for sure!
  3. Yes she was, that is a heck of a fish in your photo pic!
  4. So I decided after cathcing a bass in January this year that I would try to catch a keeper (I throw all bass back) a month in the ponds around my house. So far I have had success every month, toughest was February so far. Caught a 2 lber on the 26th. Went out with my daughter today and settled the score for June. Biggest fish of the year. 5.49 lb and it was a blast to catch. Caught this one on 8 lb test, Shimano Spirex (recently replaced by Shimano) thank you very much. Had a Texas rigged wolly worm from Yum baits. Dag gummit it was a good time. Thanks to my daughter for being there to catch the photo.
  5. I wanted to pass along just how well I was treated by Shimano when I sent a reel that broke in half during a hook-set. The reel is at least three years old and I fish it constantly. During an aggressive strike I set the hook and while I did the reel cracked in half on the arm (for want of a better term). I sent Shimano an e-mail and they told me to ship it and they would assess if it was a defect. Two weeks later I have a new reel with the old spool included. I cannot say enough about the quality of Shimano, standing behind their product. Life-long customer!
  6. Caught a few more today, low pressure, didn't expect any but a few little guys none the less. Caught the little one on ultra light bigger one using a new (to me) bait called a Mad Dad Minnow, about 4.5 inches.
  7. I know I have it good here, When I have a rough day walking out to the ponds even if I catch nothing I enjoy the peace and tranquility, But catching a fatty is nice, don't get me wrong.
  8. Been hitting the ponds around my subdivision for the past few months. Thought I would post a few photos of some of the fish. Have some nice healthy fish here in southwest Ohio. Not a lot of pressure, I'm usually the only one fishing these ponds. Jigfishn10, these are the two better ones from today!
  9. Agreed that it is dumb, just a heads up is all about wading. Seen plenty of people wading in the river and for the most part it is ok, but every once in a while you get the rotten egg who will report the wader. Simply a FYI.
  10. John, I have fished for Smallies in the Little Miami, usually while kayaking with the family so my success rate is poor due to the noise. But I plan on fishing this spring and summer. I use Morgan's canoe rental (I get a kayak) and fish while I float down stream. I know in OH the land owner owns the river bottom so beware where you wade, you may be trespassing. If you float you are exempt from trespassing thus the kayak or canoe. I have had some success and heard that others do quite well on the Little Miami. Good luck
  11. Be careful out there, not worth getting zapped to catch a bass.
  12. Got out and went fishing from 7:30am to 8:20 am, just two bites. The first one was ferocious; a 1/4 lb beast hit my Zoom 8" Big dead ringer, pumpkin chartreuse on 8lb Yozuri on a spinning reel. The next fish was a 4.25 brute, hooked through the nose. Put up a great fight and wore me out. I just had a little procedure on my knee on Friday so I was itching to get out. Thanks to the fishing Gods![attachment=20794:8-28-12 4.25lb.JPG]
  13. So, the question is, did you get the bait back?
  14. That is a HOG! Nice fish!
  15. Great looking fish you got there, welcome to the board.
