  1. Looking for suggestions for places to fish in early June. I will be in Florida from May 29th - June 6th but will only have June 1st - 5th to fish. Flying into Orlando airport so willing to drive 3 hours or so in either direction. Will only be bank fishing so some place where could get some larger fish would be nice. My PB down there is only 5lb so would be nice to break that. Appreciate any info!
  2. I will be staying in the Lake Buena Vista area this time. Any places to fish in this area? I looked on a map and looks to be a bunch of places in the area but I'm not sure if they are private or have bank access etc. I did fish Turkey Lake last year and caught a few bass so will probably fish that again. Also what are some good baits to use for this time of the year?
  3. I will have to look for them. I know of some in the Lakeland area but won't be in that area this time.
  4. I will be in the area late next week and was thinking about doing some fishing. I wont have a boat or anything so would prefer some smaller lakes that have good bank access. I will be in the Kissimmee area so maybe something around there. I try to fish FL at least once a year when I'm down. I usually do catch some fish but they are small. Best I had so far was a 5 pounder that I caught March 2011 in Palm Coast. Would be nice to get something a little bigger! Any ideas for places to fish this time of the year?
  5. Bump for anyone that missed this post...
  6. For those of you that fish or are just interested in the lake I started a group on Facebook for Lake Marburg. Perfect place to dicuss the lake, catch results etc. I only fished the lake 2 times this year so far so their isn't much posted yet. Do a search on Facebook for....Fishing Lake Marburg
  7. Spinnerbaits and jigs have always worked good for me. Depends on where I'm fishing though...
  8. Thanks for the reply.
  9. I just bought a pack of these while in FL last weekend. I texas rigged them with a 5/0 hook. I tried fishing them several ways but no luck.
  10. What size hook does everyone like to use for 10.5" plastic worms?
  11. Thanks for the info. I ended up fishing two of the lakes today at Lake Lousia State park and caught 2 bass. Tomorrow I plan on going to fish a lake in Polk County and on Monday will try lake spring in the morning and lake Silver in the afternoon in Winter Haven. Will let you know how I do...
  12. I will be at Lake Lousia State Park in Clermont on 5/14 for 3 days. It looks like the park has several lakes that can be fished. I won't have access to a boat so all the fishing we do will be from the bank. What lake in the park would be the best bet to catch bass? Also what is some lures that I should bring with me. I will be coming from PA so can't bring my whole tackle bag. Also any other places in Clermont good to fish? On 5/17 I will be in Winter Haven. What would be the best bet for bass fishing in that area? All fishing will be done from the bank. Will only have a few hours to fish on that Monday so it would be nice to fish a pond/lake where I can catch a few bass. Also what lures should I bring? Thanks, Ed
  13. I'll be in Florida the end of the month and plan on fishing Lake Okeechobee. Looks like we'll be staying at the Roland Martin Marina & Resort. I been to Florida a bunch of times now but never did any fishing so this trip will be to fish. What type of baits/colors work good on the lake? I plan on bringing some lures with me and wanted to get an idea of what will work so I don't have to bring a ton of stuff. Also will most likely be renting a boat for a day. Appreciate and tips/info Thanks, Ed
  14. I was wondering how everyone organizes their soft plastic baits. I plan on keeping them in the bags they come in. I just got all my hard baits put in a Cabelas tackle bag w/ 12 plano 3700 boxes. I was thinking about using the plano boxes that dont have any dividers because I want to keep everything seperate. worms, lizards, tubes, grubs etc.
