  1. Two Words of Advice for your Tackle Box : Flame Thrower
  2. How about a 42Lb Flathead on a Mann's Stone Jig..That's My Boy!
  3. Fantastic job on the interview. I had my fingers crossed for Ike, but I was very happy for Skeet.
  4. I grew up near the Schuylkill river and fished my whole childhood for catfish and other junk fish. One day while fishing in a farmpond(!) at the age of 24 I caught a 7lb 8oz largemouth. Since that day, May 5th 1983, I've been a Bass Man.
  5. This was the year I was finally going to hit that lake and Tuscarora. Oh, well too bad for you and me. I hope it doesn't happen to my favorite lake. In fact you know what, don't anybody bother fishing in my neck of the woods unless you hear back from me that all is OK.
  6. Z-Man, by a 2lb Test Mono over Ike for pure entertainment. Ike is more on a mission of promoting Urban fishing, Zona is there to make me laugh(I hope).
  7. Welcome, I'm over in Berks Co./Montgomery Co. area, but i only have 2 grandchildren Lots of Frozen Water outside here.
  8. I hope to find out this weekend. My son just got a couple Citica's this month and my Revo SX-HS should be here today or tomorrow. I'm so glad he bought some good reels. I was getting neck pain from constantly spinning my head around everytime his old reel would make very bizarre noises on casts and lock up. I know he really likes the Citica's, I've been an Abu Garcia man all my life, I got that from my dad.
  9. Marsh Creek Park in Chester Co. is one of the most popular Bass lakes. It is electric motor only as is most of the better places. Nockamixon is 20Hp max and Blue Marsh near Reading is unlimited HP. French Creek State Park near Birdsboro has 2 small lakes. 1 is were the State Record Smallmouth was caught, but we usually go to the lower Hopewell Lake which is bigger. I think it is only 68 acres, but it has boat rental. Montco has Green Lane Reservoir which has 2 lakes also, but you must quarantine your boat for 10 days unless you rent one. Deep Creek in the lower end only allows unmotored boats, but I think is better for shore fishing. Lake Galena is near Nockamixon and is also good for many species besides bass. Chambers Lake and Struble are also good bass places and are in lower Chester Co.
  10. Steve Kennedy. No particular tactical reason, I just like the guy.
  11. I wonder if the location of the viewer could be the problem? I wonder if anyone in the U.S. is able to view it. Seemed like it wanted to go, but something was blocking it at the other end.
  12. I have about 5 Lucky 13's that were my dads. He died in early 1970, so they are all from the 1960's or older. Only one Lucky 13 is in great condition and that has been packed away. I'm waiting for hooks from Stamina right now to get some of his other lures up and ready. Most had been repainted by him, so I figure they aren't worth much except for what they were made for. I was going to use them and some Creek Chub Pikie Minnows for Musky when the water thaws again.
  13. Very, very, cool.
  14. Your right. I heard that too, but forgot. I had found some moth balls at my moms and have them for winterizing, but I'm afraid my compartments will hold the smell in and ruin baits(might help?) next year. I'm going to try the Dryer cloths this winter.
  15. I had this problem too. I went to BPS and got one of these for $7 This solves the bouncing, but I don't consider it good as a safety strap. I tie a knot below the buckle so it can't work its way loose, but I don't know how well it would work in an accident or winch failure.
  16. I switched to DISH network recently and saw that a new season is airing starting January. I don't know if they meant the 2nd Season is going to air on TV or if it is a 3rd Season. I guess it would be hard to sell new discs if they were already airing on TV for free.
  17. Although this doesn't affect me directly, I did see it on the PA website. "The Commission also opted to seek public input on a proposed prohibition on bass fishing tournaments on the West Branch, North Branch and main stem Susquehanna River that permit the harvest of fish. The proposal was generated in response to angler concerns about organized events that focused on taking fish, especially at a time when agency biologists and bass fishermen have concerns about relatively weak reproduction of young smallmouth bass in parts of the river system in recent years." 18. I'm still trying to figure out how I can store my boat in the Rec Room. That way every 1/2 hour when I think of something to tinker with, I don't have to run outside. Seriously though, I keep mine in the garage whenever I can, but mostly next to the garage with 2 covers on it. I've been eyeing them portable tent like garages that a lot of people use. That way I don't have to cover it when I leave it outside in between trips and to keep the sun off it.
  19. Like to see Aaron Martens win, for once!
  20. I've only had my trailered boat for a few months and never unplugged them or had any problems. However, after winterizing and doing other maintenance I've decided to start unplugging them this spring. Didn't find any water inside the lenses, but I did notice a crack underneath one and resealed it. I'm only concerned about forgetting to plug them back in or the wire dangling down on the ramp. At least I know if either of these things happen I can just leave them plugged in and everything should be alright. I can't really see any other reason to leave them plugged in since it is an '89 trailer and getting old. The minute I have any problems, I'm replacing them with LED's and be done with it.
  21. Yea just wait till the others come. I got a Tackle Craft only catalog and the only thing I bought like that was some Pro Tec paint. I get a Fly Fishing only catalog and I think the only Fly Fishing thing I bought was some clippers. The Fishing Master Catalog and the Marine Catalog are the only ones I really need. The other ones are good to look through. I occasionally find a tool or something that I can use that don't come in the fishing or boat catalogs.
  22. I fished out of small jon up until recently. At the time I had only 1 rod over 6' and stopped taking that with me because it was too long. Another thing I did was to wear a fishing vest like fly fisherman wear. I would load the pockets up with any tackle that fits. I even had to re sew some of the pockets because they kept tearing out (it was a real cheap vest) I had one of them Berkley Rod brackets with the foam cutouts in them mounted between the bench seats (-$10). Of course, don't skimp on safety gear. It is even more important in smaller boats.
  23. Since I'm on disability I get to watch all of them. Roland Martin actually pulled it off recently. Yes, He used sunscreen and rain gear on the same show. He had already plugged the sunscreen and as they were getting ready to leave later in the day there was some black clouds coming in the distance. He figured since they had a long run they better put their rain gear on for the ride back. I had wondered if he could get both of them plugged on a show with a straight face for a while. Seeing it happen I was celebrating like I just scored a TD in the Super Bowl. Charlie Ingram (Fishing U) is so good at it he doesn't miss a beat. They must edit that show heavily. I don't know how he can nail a monster SMouth and by the time he lands it he has somehow even mentioned the outboard motor company. The sponsors must love Charlie.
  24. I think this thread got confused or something. Some of the answers seem to be from other threads. Either that or someone slipped some booze in my coffee. In that case ignore me.
  25. I have them for all the little lakes I fish. In PA the state has maps online for ramp and other facility locations at state run lakes. I've actually traced some right off my PC monitor and then mark depths, channels and other structure on them later after a few trips around the lake. Don't forget to mark the North direction. That makes it easier to plan at home what sides to start at depending on when you go. Lately though Google Earth is my choice to copy from because I can locate all the creeks that run into the lakes. State maps just show the main body of the lake.
