  1. First off want to seay hello yall. I am currently living in Wheaton from ALABAMA. And this weather is throwing me for a loop. When is the best time to hit the lakes for the BASS here (largemouth) I have recently discovered Senneca and Black Hills are these decent places? And where are some good spots in my area? I don't have a boat up here so I am kinda limited to bank fishing which is fine.
  2. What about Paitence? When I come into contact with fish like this I fish that spot where they are for 5-10 minutes sometimes until I catch (since they don't spook) And throw everything in my tacklebox (BAG now) until I find the lure that works. In my case tubes have worked really well and just the other day a Big jig landed me a 4 pounder that was sittin on the edge of lilly pads in 2 foot of water. So what I am trying say is throw patience.
  3. Largemouth all the way nothing I do or know more about.
  4. I just like Dime...
  5. no direspect Dabulz but why didn't you comment on the fisherman in your area instead of everyone thinking you were talking to them in general could of saved some effort.
  6. I am going to try it this weekend at a lake... Do you think the water will be warm enough...i was night fishing(catfish) this past weekend and walked in the shallow end to get my hook of a stump and the water was not bad. And what does it matter if it is black I mean it is night it will be black anyway?
  7. Is it me or do people not discuss bank fishing enough. I am one of the many without a boat to take out when I want (wishes) and fish. I can bank fish any time at almost all my fishing spots. And IMO fishing from the bank is where it all starts, and when we have new anglers come in the forums and want to learn and we tell them to find a flat...etc I don't think they will know how to find stuff like this. So why don't you see pro's and vets. talking more on bank fishing? I mean there are so many great techniques to learn and fish to catch. Why not talk more on this. Does anyone else see my point in this topic?
  8. I guess I am...cause man do I love to catch them nice bass ...!!! ;D I do let them go...unless I am hungry and see BASS on the menu.

  11. What are the better colors for soft plastics and any other lures in cool water? I have been using a Red Shad Zoom Ribbon Tail...and seems to work and my cousin was using a Chartruse Lizard and was cathcing them Sunday...so does it really matter that much? And and this is my first post in like 6 months...Good to be back.
  12. My line is only about 2 weeks old I just changed it and the know was about 5 minutes old if that.
  13. Yesterday I bought a top water frog and went fshing late in the evening around 8:45 and threw it in some weeds. I got a bite and went to set the hook, and my line snapped. I looked at my line and my not was still intact but where the lline was tied onto snapped. Why did this happen? ( I had 10lb test) Is there a correct way to set the hooks on these lures? I looked through the archives and there isnt much on them.
  14. I have always fished it like a pop R
  15. With some nice cold beverage (non alcoholic) and usually jumping in or wading out for a little bit.
  16. I learned what I know from my grandpa...didn't have a dad around either. I will tell ya the basics.... Texas Rig: With a Texas Rig you will need a bullet weight;(it is a weight that has a point) you don't want nothing terribly heavy just enough to get it to the bottom. And you will need a circle hook (recomended; or worm hook. It is a hook with a curve in it nothing huge a 2 or 3 will do it) After you have this you will need a worm / lizard, again nothing horribly huge (since you are beginning). Go with what looks good to you or what you will have confidence in throwing. Throw this in and around structure; since you have you hook in the soft plastic it is weedless as long as you don't mistake the tree for a fish. Floating Worm: When doing this it is the same as Texas Rig (T-Rig) but you don't use a weight. And it will help if you change up your worm a little bit too, to get good action from it. Find you some finese worms, jerk-baits, and those senkos you here so much of. (Tiki worms are bout the same also and Edge lures) With these throw them in and around structure and let them sit a couple seconds and than twtch them. And let them set and twitch and vise versa. These are the two most basic ways to catch fish and have fun fishing with worms. I hope this helps and is understandable. Happy Fishing.
  17. I usually spray in the package with the worms. But I have heard doing that can melt the worms. Is this true?
  18. Just remember this sight is good but sound is better.
  19. I like to just start from the top and work my way to the bottom...
  20. Thanks Sweetwater..I will keep all of this in mind. And trust me I am not scared to walk through some woods. I do it all the time. Just last week I got my car stuck trying to ride to a spot..lol I would love to get something together and go fishing with ya.

  24. MY neighbor told me yesterday if you find a dock with lights on it at night that you can catch bass all night with a minnow. I BTW have never bass fished at night only fished for some cats.
