  1. I've fished 4-5 tournaments on the lake. I've done well and I've done horrible!! How have you made out? Last time I was up we lost our trolling motor early on day 1 and it spun me out! Think I caught 4 bass in the two day event. Was an expensive trip to finish last place. Thanks for the camping info. We figure that if it gets too warm or pours we can sleep in the truck.
  2. No one able to give suggestions on a campground or hotel?
  3. Any new reports? I did hear Weaver's might be open but that was just heard through the grapevine.
  4. Hello all, My local bass club from PA will be fishing a 2 day tournament at Chautauqua in late July. My fishing partner and I are looking for a place to stay for that Friday and Saturday night (Tournament is on Saturday and Sunday). Any suggestions? We stayed at the Red Roof in the last couple years but we missed out on the group rate and now they want to charge 110 a night. Anyone have any suggestions or an old shed we can camp out in for the weekend? We are both police officers and would gladly provide security during the night.......LOL. We were also tossing around the idea of finding a campground in the area. All we pretty much need is a place to sleep and access to electric to charge the trolling motor batteries. Any suggestions??? Thanks, B. Mayes
  5. Looking for a little help. Fishing a tournament on the Clarion River. We are launching at the Mill Creek Rd launch off of Strattanville(sp?) Road. I fished it last year for almost 9 hours and didn't have a bite! I was told if we go up river from the launch we can probably catch some smallmouth. Anyone have any tips, tricks, advice, or anything to go on? We will be there Sunday at 7am.
  6. try the transient pier off of the Lempe (sp) campground. From the bay to the main lake. Very good area to bounce a heavy jig off of the bottom for some smallies.
  7. Fished a night tournament at Sayers. Definitely like the stuff you guys put in the lake. I've won a lot of club tournaments at Sayers with my old club but have been cursed there with my new club (Tyrone Bassmasters) Slowly getting better though. Definitely like the cover and structure changes and I'm looking forward to see it in the daylight. Thanks, Bill
  8. Fished a night tournament at Raystown, PA last friday night. Was having a horrible night in the back of the boat while my boater had a limit before I even had a bite! Anyway, about 5am I got horribly sick and started vomiting and had chills. Out of respect for my boater I asked him to take me to the dock and drop me off. I then spent the next couple hours watching from shore/vomiting. Anyone ever had a similar experience? That was the first time I've ever quit a tournament early and I felt like I failed my partner because I couldn't continue. Just wanted to see what other have done or would have done in the same situation.
  9. Hello all. Been awhile since I've been on here. anyway, I have 4 tournaments the next 4 weekend at raystown. Was wondering what people have been using. We'll be launching out of aitch for all but 1 tournament. Any little bit off advice will help. Anyone catching bass on the alabama rig yet? I through it a couple times at glendale tonight with no luck.
  10. Hello. Over the past year I have bought 4 tec spec rods from Dick's Sporting Goods. Two flippin sticks, a 7ft casting and a 7ft spinning. I was at the store and online recently and was unable to find any more of the tec spec 7ft 6in flipping sticks. For the price they are great rods....was wondering if anyone knew if they quit making them or they were just out of them at the store and online. Thanks, Bill
  11. Hey guys, Haven't been on here in awhile. Fishing at Glendale, Sayers, and Raystown has been pretty tough. Have been doing OK at Raystown but it's all at night!! We are heading up to Chataqua New York for a two day tournament. It will be the first time Ive fished in NY. Guess it's a good smallie lake with a lot of docks. Ive been reading that you can get caught up on the dock pattern and miss a lot of fish off shore. Any suggestions as far as location, GPS coordinates??...HAHA....etc. We are leaving next Friday morning. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Bill
  12. Caught this one last night at Raystown, PA. Great fight. Caught her on a black and blue "justice jig" with a black and blue rage chunk trailer......the jig and trailer looked so good coming through the water I almost jumped in and ate it!!
  13. Thanks Joe. I think Im gonna try to get there next week sometime...The fish we found at Raystown were definetely on the post spawn pattern....at least moving out. To the other guy...I fished Aitch several times past couple weeks. Moderate success....really good after dark. Black senko or black and blue jig has been my baits of choice......
  14. Hey JK....have you been on Canoe Creek lately? I have a tournament there on the 25th and haven't fished it in a week or two. Any suggestions? Prefer to be away from the stumps coz that's where everyone goes!!!! Thanks! Bill
  15. Just got back from Raystown....didnt start catching any big fish til the sun went down....Caught a nice one down from Seven Points near the cliffs. I think I posted the picture correctly. Ended up catching about 6 nice ones.
