  1. P-Line cxx is working freat for me.
  2. Yup, 10lb. cxx on the symetre and seems to work great.
  3. Well, I am going to head over to BPS in another 10 min. look at those rods, and maybe some more bait, etc. Maybe even a lamiglas,heh.. I will update this once I return.. Thanks again for the suggestions.
  4. Basically looking for a all around rod, as this is my first rod. It will mate up with a Shimano Symetre 2500, with P-line CXX 10#. I would like for it to be a 2pc. As I do plan on upgrading and using 1pc later on. I don't want to spend more then $70 give or take a few. I am looking atleast a min. of a 6'6"mh rod. I will be fishing from shore. thanks.
  5. It looks like you all agree I made a wise decision. That makes me feel better on my purchase. As far as rods go, I am stumped. I really want to stay around $60, but I am liking the Shimano crucial rods. What to do..... What are some good options to mate the Symetre 2500.
  6. Thanks a ton fellas. I stopped by Sportsmans warehouse, and picked up a Shimano Symetre 2500. lol, over my budget. I am satisfied with my purchase. Next on the list is a good 6'6" rod. Once again, thank you all for your help.. -Andrew
  7. I am undecided on these 2 reels. Pflueger - President 6735x, more so the 6740x Shimano - Sahara sh3000fd Both felt wonderful to me, I have only had experience with a sedona in the past, when it comes to both brands. There is a $20 difference in the two. I cannot seem to find others to best suite me. The reason for the 2 selected.
  8. I stopped by cabella's and looked over the Spirex 4000, and the Pflueger President. I really liked the President. The only thing that I did not like on the Spirex was no anti-reverse. I was going to pair it up with a Shimano clarus rod, those are nice. over my budget but safe to say I will stay around $130 for both. I like the Sahara option, now to look at a rod, tomorrow I will drive over to Bass Pro Shop. Any more suggestions?
  9. Thanks for the responese, yes both are around 59.99 give or take depending where your purchasing. Looks like the Shimano it is. I will look at the Pflueger also.
  10. I have used a Shimano sedona in the past and was happy with it, used an Abu Garcia and was not impressed. I will use a mixture of, jigs, worms, and some crankbait. I will mainly shoot for bass, and some catfish, carp as well. Bait will change upon the persuit toward the cat, and carp. The line of choice will be Stren original of around 10Lbs. These are my choices as they are in my price range for a reel. Shimano - Spirex sr4000 Penn - Captiva 25000 They are close in the reel in ratio, but the Penn looks to dominate in the ball bearing category. Though i'm not sure if the extra would compare to the Shimano in quality. I appreciate your input, advise, and help. Thank you, Andrew
