  1. I think your price is a little low. especially if you want it tournament ready. You could save a little with a 200 or a 225 on the back. the 200 will handle the z8 just fine. I know, I have one. As far as buying used like others have mentioned, I have always bought new because u just dont know what the previous owner was like to the boat. How many sandbars or rock piles did he run into? good luck.
  2. the flying lure worked and if I saw it today I might just pick some up.
  3. water temperature will dictate spawn. with this recent cold weather water temps might have dropped a little in the ponds. I could be wrong but I think it will take more than a week or two of 60 degree weather to bring water temps up and stay up for a consistant amount of time before the bass spawn.
  4. I dont know what shape you are in, but, I went through similar pains and when I started working out and losing weight they went away.
  5. you should see a chiropractor and have an examination.
  6. u wont be dissapointed with bts and set aside plenty of time.
  7. had some problems on day one weigh in.
  8. take your time and be patient with yourself. It will take time on the water before you learn how to operate the boat to its full potential. And don't feel too embarassed by the silly mistakes you will make, we've all done them. Learn how to operate the boat comfortabley and with confidence before you worry about boat performance and adjusting things. and most important.... have fun!
  9. I don't think physical shape should matter. Look at lineman, and some baseball players have a few extra pounds. imho anglers are athletes. I've fished tournaments and know that several days of 12 hr practice fishing and then 3 to 4 days of actual tournament time is exhausting physically and mentally.
  10. I noticed the difference when fishing texas rigged worms. The higher speed reel picks up slack quicker which can be critical when a bass hits. There has been times when I would feel the hit, reel the slack and nothing is there. I honestly believe that my hook up percentage has increased from using a high speed reel.
  11. I made the switch last year and haven't regretted it. I still use mono for top water. I found that the sinking flouro affected the action of floating baits in a way I didn't like.
  12. rods: Kistler reels: BPS johny morris sig series Line: Berkley 100% Flouro Harbaits: Strikeking and Rapala Softbait: Berkley Power bait Storage: no preference
  13. I wish I could hit the snooze. I get up at 330am, usually without an alarm. I have to go to the gym before work. and as u might have guessed its gettting close to bed time.
  14. Is an upgraded, and tuned reel stock? :-? I can assure you (with 100% certainty) that many rods and reels used by pro's and spokes people are not what you see on the shelf. Since you're 100% certain, what type of differences are there between a pros rod and reel and store bought. I can see maybe changing out the bearings or drag washers, but what else can be done. And what can be done to the rod.
  15. during and after a passing shower, I have usually done really good. If its a front then its a different story. different baits depending on season and baitfish. I don't think you need to have a specific bait or technique, use what you would normally throw.
