  1. may be... i was just referencing the "10-20 minute battles"..
  2. "10 to 20 minute battles"?? I assume you are not referring to bass "battles"...
  3. I hold it as you do.. ring and pinky below post and middle and forefinger above.. btw...have you fished that President yet??
  4. just a heads up. I was just at the Dick's here... lipless and square bills on sale for $3.99 not Excalibur....sign says Pradco...but the bin was totally full of Xcalibur. their entire inventory.
  5. it would be nice to get accurate/correct information on Xcalibur vs Excalibur there is a HUGE difference
  6. I own 4......1st one is now 4 yrs old. never a had any issue at all. I think the best reel for the money out there. imo
  7. you can use Styrofoam and cut a round hole to size inside a piece of Tupperware/plastic
  8. thanks for the kind video and words... I am just glad I am able to help. from your reaction, and true appreciation, it made it all worth while. and I do think, if you are able, one day you will do the same for someone..... and, you'll think back about "that guy that sent me a "boatload" of stuff. take care...and enjoy....
  9. usually 1 with another in the car. a multi-purpose spinning set up is what i use from the bank. I also use duo lock snaps when fishing from the bank. that way I can change form worms, spinnerbaits, topwater, cranks, etc very fast. I very rarely use a jig from the bank...they get hung up too easy. if I want to fish something like a jig, I will use a Yamamoto double tail hula grub.
  10. what do you all think of the hooks that come on them? I just picked up five at Bass Pro on sale and wondered if I should swap out the hooks?
  11. mike is awesome... great jigs, shakey heads, etc... and great service.. he'll even custom make some jigs for you at night, in his truck, using the light from a cell phone... lol
  12. hey Jeremy.. I've got a 2 day tourney there. getting in late thurs. pre-fish fri. tourney is sat & sun. otherwise I definitely would have hit you up... you know it.. I hope the bite is good. never fished there and I hear there's an FLW event there that weekend... i'll be happy to take their scraps... lol.. hope you're doin' alright..
  13. I think they are sold out at Gander Mountain. I just looked and couldn't find the Supreme listed any more. btw.. I bought 2 8230MGX's from there. great deal.
  14. X2 on the 35 model choice.. ? I use the 30 model and it is plenty of reel.
  15. I just purchased 2 of the "old" model on sale. that makes 4 that I have now, I love them and have never had any issue with them at all. I didn't see enough of a difference to wait for the new version. plus, I the old one comes with an extra spool, which I really like. my vote would be...do what I did....purchase the current/old model....a great deal. save some money and get an extra spool...
  16. Pflueger President at Gander Mountain
  17. it really depends on what type of homeowners policy you have as far as how fishing gear is covered. If your home qualifies for the best policy then you do have replacement cost just like you do on the rest of your personal property but it would be minus your deductible. But, you can schedule your fishing gear with an endorsement and have a 0 deductible. if you endorse your gear on your policy to have a 0 deductible typically you put a dollar amount with each item like a specific rod and a specific reel, then you use a blanket amount for things such as crank baits. you can buy a specific policy for your boat ,motor ,trailer, fishing gear and electronics that is not tied to your homeowners policy also
  18. I told him once he got it he could send me whatever he wanted or nothing at all. he's 14 and I just wanted to help him out it sounded like he was really tight on money and wanted a nice reel
  19. since I just bought another supreme from Gander Mountain for $50.00. I am sending him a President of mine. it is in perfect condition, in the original box and with the spare spool too.
  20. do you change the hooks on the KVD jerkbait? If so, what hook do you change to and what size?
  21. that's a heck of a sack there! I'm going to be there in two and a half weeks sure hope the bite stays that hot.
  22. I think the only difference in the new one is the drag system which I'm okay with the drag system on the old model plus I get a spare spool.and I don't think the new model comes with a spare spool which I like.
  23. ok.I just called Gander Mountain and got a $30 credit so thanks shorty I appreciate your heads up on that.
  24. Well then I'll check what I actually paid. Thanks
