  1. when you replace the trebles hooks... do you use regular round bend or EWG? :-/ thanks..
  2. i like the chartruese with blue back also... BTW one other thing...change out the hooks right away before throwing any Norman Norman hooks are bad??? i've never had a problem?
  3. Megastrike with my fingers. Dip my worm/plastics (non powerbait) in JJ's.
  4. live magic shads very versatile. weightless like a fluke...with better action weighted swimbait hook rigged on a sworming hornet...(thanks RW) or on a chatterbait i've even put a split shot on about 18" in front for a little faster fall the action is one of the best.. imo
  5. what is your opinion on this? is it worth the $$? do you have better luck with the regular size or the Jr? and what color would you recommend? :-/ for those of you who use it....better to straight reel it or give it a few jerks? kind of like a popper? i'm also considering a Spro Dawg ... would you say one is best over the other? i know, 2 different techniques....but if you had to choose one. thanks..
  6. on the alberto slipping.. make sure you put the tag end back through in the same direction as when you did at first (moisten) and then gently pull the tag ends to snug it up then pull the main lines tight... i just learned this knot and really like it.
  7. Well ya know he didnt pay for the cavitrons after that LOL. you answered my question.... good for you....and him!! 8-)
  8. For at least 15 years, I used XL on spinning gear. imho the best all around line you can use for spinning gear.
  9. Alberto it is... i should have known to trust Fancho and not the title of the video.. thanks for the clarification sofla.. i appreciate your help guys.. it's supposed to be close to 60 here thursday... can't wait!! 8-)
  10. yes, it is the Albright... thanks for the help... Francho... you say Alberto....but the video is of the Albright.. the video is exactly what i was saw and was referring to... thanks for the help... and now i know... it is the braid that is wrapped around the leader....
  11. i was watching in-fisherman and they showed a knot to connect leader to braid. i didn't catch the name of the knot. i'll try to explain...the best i remember.. loop one end (not sure if leader or braid?) hold it with thumb and forefinger, take other line through the loop and wrap it around 9 times then 9 times back toward loop, take that tag end back through the loop, moisten, gently tighten with tag ends, then fully tighten with connected lines. i'm not sure if i missed a step when starting the 9 wraps back toward the loop? also not sure which line has the loop to start?? anyone know the name of this knot? or is my explanation too confusing?? :-/ seems like he said some kind of "no knot"?? thanks...
  12. yozuri hybrid ultra-soft trilene xl powerpro i picked up some McCoy co-poly on sale at TW... too cold to try it yet.... :'( looking forward to seeing how it does.. and use KVD line conditioner on everything...
  13. just a head's up... local Dick's has a big selection of Bomber's on sale @ $2.99. fat free shads, square A, 4A, 2A in good colors. hopefully your Dick's has the same sale...
  14. i think i'll use the hula grubs more this year.. i have texas rigged them in the past and had some luck but never tried on a jig head... it would seem to be more weedless and snag proof as well as easier hooksets since no weedguard to deal with.
  15. just wondering... does any use a dt hula grub in place of a jig?? seems that it has the same features all in one.. what would be the advantages or disadvantages of each? :-/ thanks...
  16. i use both size 1 and 2. i also think it improves the action... and sure makes it easy on a bank fishing day to change cranks...
  17. For a swim jig or chatter bait, i will spear/nose hook a fluke, Live Magic Shad, good info.. i have threaded both of those... but can definitely see where your way will provide more of the desired action... i'll give it a shot..
  18. that's a great price! i have 2 president's...can't beat the value.. imo. where is this deal?
  19. The only exception might be a "day" box. I keep an organized collection in a Plano for easy access. that is exactly what i do... being a co-angler.. i take a few of the baits from each bag i think i may use and put them in a plano for the day...then put them back in their own package after the trip..
  20. Pflueger President hands down. X2 for the money, the best.. imho
  21. Morning. Gurgling a jitterbug or buzzbait along a weed line an hour before sunup dead calm & 80+ degrees X2
  22. 4-5 when as a co-angler 1or 2 when from the bank
  23. what do you think the shelf life is ?? :-/ this will last me at least 3 seasons... ++ i just bought 1,000 yds of McCoy from TW last month. but this too good of a deal to pass up..
  24. well... i finally broke down and bought my first lucky craft. a pointer 78sp in ghost minnow and an RC 1.5 wake bait in golden shiner how did i do? i've got a $50 gift card from TW (that i bought for myself) i'm thinking i can buy 3 more LC... what 3 would you recommend?? and colors.. thanks....
  25. and clear isn't the greatest from what I heard fyi... tackle warehouse had the clear on sale.... before i bought it i contacted McCoy to see if there was any difference between the Mean Green and the clear. they said it was the same. i haven't had a chance to use it yet... too darn cold :'( but looking forward to it.
