  1. Did you get the carpet at Lowe's or Home Depot, etc.? I am doing mine now and debating what to get.
  2. The trolling motor is still mounted and works but there are a left over red and black pair. Below is a link with a photo of it.
  3. I would say they are the size of dimes surrounded by a rubber fitting. The hole in the middle has a plug in it. I cannot post links yet or I would attach a link to some photos. Thanks
  4. Sorry! It is a 1996 Javelin 369SE. Johnson 115 fast strike Thanks to all!!!
  5. I just bought my first boat and I have a couple of questions. I tried to post pics but they are too big. First, there are some extra wires behind the trolling motor plug plate. The boat has no bow mounted fish finder. Could those be used for that? I am recarpeting the boat now and it looks like under the carpet there are holes drilled for what possibly used to be a fish finder. Trying to find power for the FF. Second, on the very bottom rear of the boat below the transom there are 3 holes. What are these holes for? Right above those holdes there are two pipes coming out with mesh strainers on them which I am assuming go to the aerators for the live wells. Again, I am a newbie and do not want to sink the thing b/c I forgot a plug! Thanks for the help and advice!
  6. Any clubs looking for new members in the North Metro Atlanta area? Thanks!
  7. After I get all of my carpet up and glue off, should i put something down on the deck before I put down my new carpet, in order to protect the deck? Some type of clear coating? Also, anyone have any tricks for getting the old carpet off the storage lids? Floor was easy....lids not so much. Thanks!
  8. Thanks! It's a 2 bay garage so I will put the boat in the spot furthest from the door to the house. My wifes car will be in the other spot. Truck will have to sit outside....Sacrifices! It's funny. My biggest worry so far is making sure it fits in the garage. I have been searching Craigslist all week and will start checking them out tomorrow in person. There are a few that I have seen that look pretty good. We'll see what they are like in person and by a mechanic.
  9. Yep...the opening to the garage is 96" (8ft). It will be tight but it looks like most 17 footers have a beam that is narrower than 8ft.
  10. I guess I could install a fold away coupler on the trailor so it would fit in the garage easier if it is an issue. Thanks all for the continued responses! It is really helping.
  11. I have a few questions if someone could help out. They are very general, but any help is appreciated. I have been fishing all of my life but don't know a ton about boats...never owned a bass boat. I am looking to spend $5000 on a used bass boat. It cannot be too big because I want to keep it in my garage (22'deep x 8' wide). I will be fishing medium to large lakes. Here goes: - Any thoughts on the best kind of used bass boat to buy? Are some makes, models, and years better than others? What would you buy if you were me? - What major things should I look out for so I do not buy a nightmare? - Approximately, how much does boat insurance cost per month? Thanks and feel free to answer questions that I did not ask. Anything to help out a newbie!
