  1. They look good to me! But I am trying out the war eagles this summer, never heard anything but good about them, and the screamin' eagle will be perfect for smallies
  2. I like the northland slurpie beaver or whatever its called, it looks the same but got better action....caught some nice smallies with it
  3. I haven't tried too many, Gulp is just too expensive for me tho....Yum makes a crawfish one, $4, I catch fish so it definitely doesn't scare them away. I'm sure the other ones are just as good if not better tho (megastrike etc)
  4. Use any worm, but just give it a trial first at home or off the dock, if it looks like it sticks out naturally, then you got yourself a legit drop shop worm. I use gambler giggy sticks, 5", and the tail is hollow so it floats and it looks pretty good.
  5. sorry, I was going to say, I caught lots on the yum frog on a 5/0 hook, works just fine.
  6. I found that I can't fish the buzzfrog as slowly as a Gambler Toad...but they hold up better. To be honest, I didn't really care that it had to be fished faster as I was burning them anyways to get a reaction strike and cover water. But if the fish are a bit slow, maybe go with the Gambler.
  7. the Yum Paddletail worm just has amazing action in the water texas rigged with a light weight or shakey head.....I just bounce it on the bottom and it tail kick after the nose hits the ground...caught me some fish and will continue to
  8. haha I feel better about my collection now
  9. ya looks like a brush hog to me....zoom or strike king for me
  10. I have never seen that thing....I bet a carolina rig would work, that would give some extra flash.
  11. I have them by depth, in a 360 box in singles not to tangle them....well I single my favorites and double/triple up guys I don't use often b/c for the amount I use them, they can tangle
  12. I wish there was a canadian site for fishing gear like tackle warehouse that wouldn't cost so much for shipping! Thanks guys I will look into those sites thoroughly
  13. Tim - late response but I sent ya a PM
  14. Those E2s shown above look better hahaha
  15. don't know if they are the best but I use the football head BassPro shakey gigs. Decent price, good hook, football head stops it from rolling over a bit...no complaints
  16. Welcome bro! Don't tell anyone about how good our smallmouth fishing is up here!!!!! (and how underrated our Largemouth fishing is)
  17. *** is bang on...like always! I use firetiger spinnerbaits for smallies, by far the best color for them. I have a firetiger 5" swimbait for largemouths I use firetiger cranks for smallies with success. I think they try to immitate perch...at least on my lake, they look like a perch.
  18. just a worm, like a shakey head most of the time maybe a tube
  19. I heard Jimmy Houston say that he throws on a trailer if the bass are short striking...otherwise naked
  20. I really don't use a trailer, I would to maybe beef up for some largemouths, but a lot of time I'm just fishing smallies and leave it naked. Even if I get a spinnerbait with an extended skirt, I trim it. I like smaller profile for the most part with the smallies
  21. Williow leaf....silver in clear water, gold in tea stained with sunshine. haven't noticed much of a difference b/w the 2ndary blade, in fact one of my most productive spinnerbaits only had 1 silver willowleaf
  22. Often, I catch my biggest fish when I leave the scale, the camera, or the net at home hahaha
  23. I love using light tackle for smallies. I use a cheaper shimano rod, medium action, medium speed so it has that parabolic bend. It is 6'0 as I travel a lot and fish out of a boat with a bunch of my family often and wanted a compact rod. I have a shimano sahara reel, beauty reel for a good price. I use either 6# test maxima mono, or a 15# brain with a mono leader. Tubes are often attached to the end, or a worm....this year I will try figuring out the drop-shot rig
  24. I immediately thought the same as you, a spinnerbait, lipless crankbaits, trying to get those reaction strikes. Maybe a carolina rig if they want a slower presentation while continuing to cover water decent
  25. Another bunch of Erie monsters! Nice bass!!
