1. I fish the 200E7. Great real You can't go wrong with the 50 for what you described I flip/pitch with my 200e7 and it kicks ***
2. I break off all leaders when slamming the hook with my heavy action flipping stick so I don't use leaders anymore...BUT I use those knots a lot for smallmouth fishing and found that if you manipulate the number of wraps you will find that you will get better or worse performance. Try different wraps and see what holds best when you test it in your garage. I found more wraps the better with the braid. I would do 12-14. Maybe 10 going up and 4 back down. Anyways see what works!
3. I agree with a bunch of the guys. 10# is too light for a reaction bait like Spinnerbait (also has a lot of resistance in the water) B/c of the way it feels and how easy it is to detect fish biting a spinnerbait you can get away with using mono or copoly. Same price and will not break. I fish 15# maxima mono (amazing) I've also beefed it up to 17# P-Line CX...I like how maxima handles better (casts further) Finally, Trilene knot is good but I have fallen in love with the San Diego Jam knot. It cinches better for me and I dont get flouro breaking off on me. Best part is san diego jam works great for mono, copoly, flouro and braid! Just alter the # of wraps
4. Junebug always works for me up north in the grass as well
5. there is a picture/narrative thing for cleaning your reels on bassmaster.com But probably unnecessary with DVT on bass resource!
6. I usually throw 65# Braid (power pro) I put some 20# flouro on at the end of the year when all the grass and pads had thinned out. I may keep the flouro on for the spring then back to braid when the cover gets thick again.
7.
They look great to me, but too expensive up in Canada...$7 a pack at our bass pro

.....eh
Sorry my fault dude I confused the Hawgs! The Z Hawg that just came out is expensive here The Super Hawg I use a lot flipping and pitching on a straight shank hook 65# braid and a heavy stick. I have caught some great ones on it, I like how it holds the hook better than a beaver imo
8. I like the ones that catch fish! There is a nice video on bassresource about spinnebaits...I think Glen does it.
9. Spinnerbait- white Jig- Brown/black Crankbait- firetiger Worms- Blue Fleck Frog - Black Plastic Craws - Red Shad/Junebug/Tequila Sunrise
10. I fish excalibur. Normally the smallest of the 3 sizes I also fish SK KVDs.
11. I go straight braid. I fish this in clear northern waters even. I think when fishing grass/pads/cane it blends in. I've never noticed a drop in productivity or fish running away from the braid. I have broken off several flouro leaders and just started skipping it altogether. I do use a leader on my spinning gear, but obviously the hook set is different.
12. You are right. I have a local handmade jig that is much better. Did not mention it b/c it's local to me (ontario, canada) which doesn't help anyone else out haha
13. I usually fish a local hand made jig as well. But I can't recommend that one as unless you drive up here you won't be getting it. I have seen 2 Denny Brauer jigs. One rusts out and sucks. The other one is a gama or mustad hook and is OK (OK as in not great not bad)....Sorry I didn't mean to lead you a stray
14. If money was no object I would ask for a Ranger Zcomanche
15. I would be using braid on your combo. I use braid for 1/2 my rods for a few years now with no signs of wearing on the guides or anywhere else. Cheap braid with cheap dye will leave green junk behind on your reel and you will need to clean it once in a while. I found power pro doesn't leave any junk.
16. curado e7
17. San Diego Jam is a GREAT knot for flouro and with increased wraps is great for braid to. I will also tie Palomar on braid sometimes. I will tie the modified albright for braid to leader.
18. I like terminator jigs but I only get 1/2 of them with a sharp hook! When they are good, they're good. Strike king premier denny brauer whatevers are good for me with a rounded head even (not sure why, I just have no problem with them in grass) I will also fish booyah jigs and have no problem with them either. These are also cheap and easy to throw in rough areas without worrying about losing the $$
19. I fish a jig in clear water....but often I'm throwing a jig in dark places (ie under pads, under slop, into the shadows of cane) So I will often throw a dark jig
20. Aggressive is some kind of flapping craw (ie net bait paca, or even a zoom twin tail) Subtle I use a zoom super chunk (jr)
21. If I can catch fish on a jig bite I'm going with the jig b/c of its high hook up ratio for me. If the cover is heavy and I'm getting tired snagging on slop it's time to go to the plastic. Often I fish a jig early in the season before the slop gets crazy heavy. I love it. I feel if you can drop a jig or plastic on the nose of a bass it will strike as I think its the "reaction strike" Sometimes I just can't get the jig in the heavy stuff where the bass is (switch to plastic). When the bite gets tough, I envision their strike zone shrinking not the fact they won't bite thereby lowering your bites. Still if you drop that jig or plastic in that shrunk strike zone you will get it. That is my whole theory on it.
22. I usually have a technique rod for pitching (often a soft plastic or else it is a jig) Rod for worms Spinning rod with a senko or finesse worm so 3 most the time (out of 6)
23. I use both I don't mind a lead 1/4oz on a big worm But I like tungsten for pitching smaller craws as it is less "overwhelming" compared to the bait and appears more natural.
24. I like wave worm as an alternative to the senko I also use the original Yum Dinger (haven't tried the F2) I found the stick-o similar to the Yum Dinger
