  1. I think they can be if fishing clear water. I fish mainly grass and pads so I may get away with it though. I did find going to heavy on my worm rod line decreased my bites. I figure that was either bc the bass could see it or the action of the lure was killed by such heavy line. I've never needed a leader on my spinning rod with 10-15# braided line with largemouths.
  2. one of the shimano flipping sticks is around that price point (i think clarus). It is worth a feel
  3. daiwa procyon is a solid rod for the $$
  4. cool, thanks!
  5. Thanks for the input, much appreciated
  6. What's your personal preference for turkey?
  7. Going to try to get some turkey with the bow this spring. Was wondering your preference on broadheads when turkey hunting? I probably wouldn't go the route of the huge bladed guillotine style but open to fixed and typical expandables. Let me know what y'all think!
  8. nice!
  9. I've had a PSE stinger 3G for a couple years now. I've updated some of the parts to my personal preference but the bow is still going strong, no issues or complaints. It kills things. (Of course at that price point the stock parts aren't great but it allowed me to upgrade parts on my schedule while still using the bow)
  10. I sure hope that's a fake
  11. worms 12# yo zuri hybrid jigs 3/8 and 1/2 oz like you listed I throw 20# flouro
  12. citica e or curado g they are solid do everything reels. I cast weightless worms on my citica e and frogs on a separate citica e. Both situations they perform. I like my abu winch a lot. It is super smooth but doesn't cast as nicely as my shimanos. Especially when weightless.
  13. Green power pro for me Tuf Line makes braid similar to power pro and is cheaper. I haven't tried the high vis stuff. I usually throw braid on my frog rod so I'm not line watching so much.
  14. I use the VMC short shank round bend trebles. I find them to be sharp, durable, and a fraction of the price as most the other big name brands. The other ones are awesome to but I can't justify spending too much money replacing hooks
  15. I've been using zman with no issues...maybe I'm lucky. Or your unlucky... I'd give the strike king blade bait a try for my next one to compare.
  16. I really really like using the Strike King floating finesse worms. I forget their exact name but they are about 4-5" long, shaped like a finesse worm and made out of the elaztech rubber so it floats. I nose hook them.
  17. Snell will work for sure. You can snell that hook if you want. I personally use a san diego jam. I find it faster to cut and retie, never had it break, and hook-up ratio never a problem. Definitely worth a try if you are experimenting with knots. I snell my straight shank hooks and am happy with it as well.
  18. Nice man! I throw them weightless most of the time T-Rigged.
  19. 10" ribbon tail worm, T-Rig 8" lizard, Carolina Rig if not too choked with weeds Frog Spinnerbait if its choppy on the water Buzzbait in morning/evening
  20. The fact that I can't fish enough! haha Lakes often lack access/parking, not everyone is friendly at the ramp or on the water
  21. Lunker Lure Jig 1/2 oz bluegill zoom chunk, strike king KVDs jig chunks...anything like that I'm fine with.
  22. I had a great time fishing ish monroe's phat frog in black last summer. Live Target is a great frog to. But between these two I'll buy whatever one is on sale haha. Stanley makes a soft rubber frog that is cheap and works great.
  23. I have had no problems with z-man chatterbaits but I haven't tried others to tell if they're better
  24. First thing in the morning no music for me... I just enjoy being there. Later on in the day after the 1000th cast sometimes I'll throw on some skynyrd, allman bros, alan jackson, eric church, george strait or some sheepdogs for my mid day pick up!
  25. first bring a good rain jacket! If the rain chops up the water enough I start chucking my reaction baits a bit more shallow. If it is light rain and doesn't disturb the water (it's still clear) then I'd still fish the normal seasonal pattern.
