  1. I checked the website, and my rod I ordered is still at the regular price, the others seemed to have the lower price this weekend. Oh-well,
  2. Mega, thanks for the tip. I usually use a lot of the DT series, but for my other cranks I will swap them out. I will be putting a 200E5 on it that I had the bearings polished by DVT and the drag upgraded. I am really looking forward to seeing how far I can throw a lure with this setup!!! I am hitting Toledo Bend next Saturday with it! Pee, No dont say that!! I will watch their website and see if I can get some kind of deal out of it, but Ugh!!!
  3. Ugh, and I already bought one rod today! Where's my credit card? Which one is the flipping stick, can anyone let me know? It looks like the 7'-11", but no lure weights on it. Thanks,
  4. Thank you! I placed the order for one today from TW.
  5. Hey everyone, I am considering acquiring a Powell Endurance 755 for cranking duties. I wanted to check and see if anyone has, or used one and can give me an impromptu review. I would also greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance, Wdy
  6. Welcome to the forums, glad you joined!
  7. Yeah, I have an American Fender Telecaster. It is a limited edition so, I really dont want to take her out and attract a lot of attention. But, I was going to replace the pick ups with some Lindy Fralin "Blues Special," Telecaster pickups to cure that problem and give it a lot more punch!
  8. I am really thinking about ordering this guitar, but not being able to put it in my hand makes me nervous. I have a read a lot of reviews on it, but I trust a subscriber to the forums over a stranger. If you have the guitar and can message or just post a quick review I would greatly appericate it a lot!!
  9. Yeah, I have had some issues with the line breaking easily. Great concept, just not sure it was perfected.
  10. Hey, I was born in Richmond, but moved away. Always great to see another VA guy join up! Welcome aboard!
  11. That's probably what happend with that big fish I lost with you on Chesdin. Still makes me sick losing that fish!!!!
  12. Great to have another VA guy in here! (I'm from Richmond.) Glad you joined the forums!

    Welcome to the site!
  14. Welcome to the site David! Glad you joined up!
  15. He probably just goofed up his words he was instructed to say. I like to use my old Ambassaduer 5500 C3 without anti-reverse on crankbaits. That little "back partial turn stop," allows the fish to suck the crank in deeper. Maybe that is what he meant. But, yeah as far as feeling the different, I doubt it.
  16. I'll check into this and call you when I find out Sam.
  17. I have not used the St. Croix line you are talking about, but I know they make fantastic rods. I do have two Powell Endurance series, the 723C and 6103. (My personal rule of not spending more then $200 for a rod or reel kicks in, but prevent the poorhouse from expensive bait monkey.) I love my Powell's they took a little getting used to. My 723C says it's an extra fast tip, yeah, not sure about that but, the hook setting power is what got me hooked on that series of rods. So much back bone with the rod, I rarely loose a fish after setting the hook. Plus, the sensitivity is there, it has enough to feel everything, (I mainly use P-line Flourclear on my reels). I think *** has a deal where you can try a rod out and then send it back if you dont like it. But, you are not going to to wrong with either rod, I guess $$ might be the difference.
  18. I haven't used the Stradic, heard everyone that has one loves it. I have the Pfluger Supreme XT, I know it's not a reel of choice here, but the Pfluger drag is VERY smooth. But, for this price range I doubt you will go wrong of these three reels. Enjoy the new reel!
  19. I will verify that, but I am pretty careful about loosening and tightening that back up before I go fishing. IT only took me 5 nasty-backlashes to learn, "Check your cast control before fishing." Thanks for the suggestions guys! Wdy
  20. Hey everyone, I have a 50E and lately when I disengage the spool for a cast it will slap, or slide along the shaft during the cast. What I mean is, the shaft and spool assembly will slide back and forth in and out of the reel (along the long-axis of the shaft) about say 1/8". Makes a pretty good noise, when I used my 200E7 today and the spool did not seem to have that issue. Has anyone else come into that problem? Thanks in advance, Wdy
  21. Welcome to the forums Michael!
  22. Yeah, I own a couple of Endurance series rods 723c and 6103 spin, love them! They hooking setting power of the Powell's are the key for me. Great write up BASSclary!!
  23. Anyone know anything about Lk. Buhlow? I'm going to try and hit that up this week sometime. Thanks,
