  1. Hey everyone, I have a 9230XT Supreme that I rarely use, but it seems to have a click at the top of the wind. Meaning, when the spool is at its farthest point out. Anyone else had a problem with theirs and this noise, or any ideas what it could be? I baby my reels, this one still looks brand new, oil it twice a year, she stays inside in a closet on the rod with no abuse. Thank you Wdy
  2. Hey everyone, I found some fishing line that I got I really, really like,,,,,,,,,yeah, lets just say a long time ago! Like 8 years, and I love this line. It is Yo-Zuri X-Tex finesse line. Wondering if it is still good, probably not, but just curious. It has been spooled up on the Yo-Zuri spool in the box indoors the whole time. Thanks, Wdy
  3. Check the flea market, I saw there are a couple of Dobyns and Powells in there for sale just now. Not sure what rods they are, but could save you some $$. Wdy
  4. Will do BigSCruz!!
  5. Teal, or anyone here, Have you used their flipping hooks? I ordered a good amount of their craws based off reviews written on TW's website and some of their flipping hooks. They seem like good products. Just waiting to get my hands on them, and more importantly into a swamp donkeys mouth!!!
  6. Good stuff! Had to rip one of them off to post to Facebook!
  7. If you dont mind, I assume a 2/0 hook EWG? Also, on a spinning rod? Thanks
  8. I've got 4 Endurance rods and love them! Dobyns seems to make great rods, I never held one or fished with one. But, one thing I really enjoy about my Endurance is the backbone. When I set a hook on a bass, he's coming in, unless my line pops. Endurance for a $150, is a great deal. Cant go wrong with either. Enjoy the new rod!!
  9. I was going to say, look at a 50e series. Smaller reel should help that balance point issue.
  10. Ok, glad I found this thread, because I was getting ready to be that guy and post first, without searching. But, I have an old never used Shimano 200SF Castic, which seems to be heavy at 8.6oz. or I am thinking about going to a Gen 3 Revo STX with the 8 to 1 and 20# drag. I have never flipped before (just put in a good size order at TW to remedy that). Granted, I am a Curado 200E guy. I have Powell Endurance 775 for flipping. Any quick recommendations? Thanks everyone! Wdy
  11. I like the somewhat curved handle. I think those will look good next to my 200e's
  12. yeah, I have been looking at the new Tatula Type R's for a little and they look nice! Both, I have a 50e, 200e5, and 200e7 all with upgraded drags and bearings so, I don't know if it is worth it starting over. Plus, I love my Curado E's!!
  13. Great catches! That looks like the upper lake right?
  14. Welcome to the forums!!!
  15. Hey everyone! How is everyone doing this fine Friday afternoon? I have a couple of questions to see what you guys would recommend. I have two casting reels that I am planning to use for flipping. One, is a Curado 200E7 with the bearings polished and Carbon-tex drag installed (by Mike at DVT). Second is a Castic 200SF reel (6.4 to 1) with a double clutch (I like the double clutch a lot just playing with it). Which would you guys recommend I use for flipping? I really have not been flipping at all so....... Second is the rod, Josh S. on the board here pointed me to a website that is selling a Powell Endurance (I am a big fan of Powell rods!) cheap. (I guess that is what friends are for, pushing you to spend your money.) I was thinking about the 775 or the 746. I know what the Powell codes mean so, I know the 746 would have more backbone. But, I wanted to see what you guys recommend, I guess if anything to push me over the edge and spend some money! (Thanks again Josh, I will return the favor!!!) Thanks in advance, Wdy

  21. Great thread! I was actually going to post something very similar. I just acquired a Shimano Castaic 200SF with the double-clutch mechanism. Has anyone else used these reels for flipping?
  22. Welcome to the forums, glad you joined up!
  23. Yep, I have sent Mike my 50e, 200e5, and 200e7, also a Plfuger all to get work completed on them. Very quick turnaround and top notch work!
  24. Yeah, it will be interesting at work tomorrow to see what people say Sam. My Hokies barely won, Ugh! Back to the drawing boards for them!
  25. Hey everyone, I am looking to get a crock pot and really don't know which brand is good. It seems like a simple enough device. But, I am very picky about things and dont want to get something get something that will not last. (Note, I am an aspiring fat man so, this item will get used.) Any recommendations, thanks! Wdy
