  1. I use spoons under specific conditions. In the summer on clear water mountain impoundments a spoon can be the best lure for suspended fish at times. A jigged spoon has been my go-to lure when bass are suspended over trees in 30 to 50 feet of water at Table Rock Lake. Jigging a spoon can be effective for winter fish on the bottom as well. Additionally, when Kentucky spots are busting shad at the surface using the correct spoon can be deadly.
  2. Cottonmouths are poisonous but I would only kill one if I was in danger of being bitten - the old "Its either the snake or me" scenario.
  3. From the looks of both of your pics, 7.3 doesn't look like a bad estimate. She has a heck of a mouth. Congratulations on the PB.
  4. Heavens Peak, Glacier National Park.
  5. Awesome fish and great narrative. Congratulations!
  6. Very happy for you, Jim! I bet you can't wait to get some fish smell in that thing.
  7. You guys are on it. Nice group of fish there. Hope you slay 'em today!
  8. Nice solid Redfish! I haven't experienced anything inshore that fights like a Redfish. How long did it take to bring that one in?
  9. That boat is coming along nicely. I am looking forward to seeing your work on the deck.
  10. This was not the clearest pic because I had to snap it quickly. We were whale watching in Puget Sound when this Orca surfaced.
  11. That is a nice fat fish! HCR is on my list of reservoirs to hit but I haven't been there yet.
  12. Here's a list of pros/cons of a cover versus a tarp, which is by no means exhaustive but it is a start. Pros Should be more waterproof than a tarp Fits the boat better so the wind can't get under it as easily and rip or pull on it Better fit results in less dust and pine needles getting under the cover and on the boat Custom fit cover performs all of the above and can also be trailered Cons More expensive Costlier to replace
  13. Congratulations on the new DD PB and welcome to BR!
  14. Nice pics! The big one is a beast for sure.
  15. Female Bighorn Sheep near Apikuni Falls in Glacier National Park.
  16. Congratulations on your first of many bass, I am sure.
  17. Congratulations on the PB!
  18. I like your signature too.
  19. What a beast! That's the biggest 10.9 ounce bass I have ever seen.
  20. Otter Slough, a Southeast Missouri MDC conservation area, in January. Counts for snow geese in the winter have exceeded 250,000 at this area.
  21. Congrats on the new boat, Jim (@jbmaine).
  22. That last bass is quite a chunky specimen. Excellent fish!
  23. When they do fire up, you appear to be very effective and efficient at catching what is available.
  24. Like everyone else, if I had to pick one day it would be Friday though I wouldn't count out Thursday or Saturday before the front either if I had the time. A few days of a stable weather pattern is a rule of thumb for good fishing and pre-frontal conditions should be optimum. As Gundog mentioned, Saturday could be a good day, and possibly one of the best as well. If the front comes in later on Saturday all hours before that should be considered.
