  1. when i was playin travel hockey, and we would have tournaments next to lanier, me and my best freind and his dad would go to bald ridge marina at night after the games at lake lanier, and there were tons and tons of docks. we always would catch spots, as many dinks as keepers, so yes, marinas are worth fishing. most of the fish we caught were on the deeper sides of the docks, and docks that had the huge boats in them, because you know there is deeper water there
  2. bassfishinmover, what are you talkin about?
  3. del has had allot of equipment malfunctions lately. him and his wife are uinder the gun to get these molds out and the machines keep busting, but buy from them, they have the best molds
  4. i like the jigheads they sell. there a mix between a round head and a stand up. there called Black Majik jigs, and there awesome. i get the 1/8oz.
  5. ryan, there goin faster because there motors as allowing them to reach there maximum hull speed. even though it may seem like it, your boat isnt goin as fast as it can. get some 82's on there and you will be just as fast as them.
  6. that fish is so ugly, but so beautiful at the same time
  7. slim down everything. line, rod power, sinker weights and soft plastics. when a cold front goes threw, i have a small crawdad with a 1/16oz weight rigged, and a zoom finesse worm with a 1/8oz jighead. these two setups will always catch me something. i also use only 4, 6, or 8 during coldfronts. go extremely slow with the baits and fish tight to cover
  8. lee had sent me an email with the pic of the fish, and he asked if i could post it for him, but i dont know how to because it is in .PDF format. could someone help me?? wait till you see the fish, its big
  9. the two things that i take into consideration immediatly is sky and wind. i dont care about the temp, water clarity, etc. that is the most important thing to me. if it is bluebird skies with no wind, i know that i have to fish a soft plastic. becasuse those fish arent lookin up. if its cloudy and windy, they will suspend or come up shallow
  10. also, one last thing. dont listen to anyone who says they arent catchable. dont get down about the conditions. those fish are as catchable as any other condition. you just have to adjust. fish with confidence. know you are goin to catch them, and work that jig like crazy and cover as much water as you can. flip the jig into the pile, give it a hop, then shake it and let it sit. if nothin bites, reel it in and go to another spot
  11. also use a fast reel, because the fish are gonna charge out of the brush when they take that jig. there gonna charge at you. so u need to have a fast reel so u can keep up with them. also try braid so your hookset doesnt have any stretch and give them a lil advantage of a weak hookset as they come to you. im not sure if this makes sense or not to you
  12. forget the deep stuff. flip right on the bank. every brushpile, stump, rock. anything. those fish are gonna be shallow. flip your brains out!! it will definatly pay off. if your throwin a worm, lose the watermelon. throw a solid color that is gonna be visible in that muddy water. my favorites are black, and red bug. a ribbontail has more viber than straight tail, so use those, and also add a rattle. use a big weight and a big hook. the fish arent lookin for profile, so you need to tell them your there. use jerkbaits with rattles in them. but i wold stick with the jig in ultra shallow water all day. and just flip and flip and flip
  13. black n blue jig. flip it right into the brush. i would say 95% of the fish will be right against the bank in brush or any kind of variation in the bank. flip your brains out, and watch your line. most of the fish you catch will charge at u with the jig, and settin the hook can be hard. so make sure to use a fast reel. also, u have to put it right on there heads, because they either arent goin to hear it, or they arent goin to move very far for food. so flip into a brushpile, let it sit, hop it once or twice, give it a shake, and if nothin bites, move on to next spot. but the key is noise, and right on there heads. rattles would also help greatly for these conditions. try a lunker lure triple rattleback jig. there so noisy. good luck, those are about the worst conditions u can face.
  14. for pouring your own baits, i would start out with the best stuff. i would go with del-mart. there stuff is awesome. expensive, but awesome. del will stay on the phone with you as long as it takes for you to get a good pour. the customer service is awesome. shipping will sometimes take a lil bit. for the crankbait making, i would ask whittler. he is the most experienced on this site as far as i can tell. if you have more questions, pm me
  15. del-mart
