  1. Oh....oh am I? My father has been sitting in a prison cell the last 6 years of his life. Was it because he was convicted by a jury of his peers? Nope. So tell me, Bassn......you OBVIOUSLY know what your talking about when it comes to the legal system....am I wrong. Have I not seen what I have seen? Have I not been a victim of one of the most corrupt, unjust legal systems in the world? I wanna know man....you must know.
  2. Bassn, let's pretend we are both adults here and look at Senile's comment.....he is clearly saying that it is WRONG to go to the police when all you have is someone telling you what they saw. The graduate assistant who supposedly witnessed the act told his superior, Paterno, and Paterno told his superior. His superiors did nothing, therefor giving Paterno the right of way to continue on. Paterno believed that IF something HAD happened, they would take care of it. I would love to here from someone who has turned in a loved one. I am very interested to know the details surrounding the situation. As for me "putting my money where my mouth is and removing yourself as a member".......EL OH EFFING EL. Your a joke...nothing more. At least your old *** can still make me laugh a bit!!!
  3. Bassn, your wanting Senile's post removed and your now wanting to bet on my membership on a bass fishing forum???? What gives?
  4. Quite the contrary.....his post should be framed and preached to all. When you HEAR something.....you don't call the police. You report it to the people you are supposed to report it to. Do you know how many innocent men are in jail in this country because of hear-say and not actual fact? You don't have a clue.
  5. Disgusting. Just disgusting. Congratulations to the media and to the retards all over the country screaming for his being removed. Judgement is real and is coming.
  6. Senile....this is the best post I have ever seen on this site. The judgement DISGUSTS me.....from all of you. So many armchair quarterbacks, gladly jawing off their opinions, when they have zero......ZERO facts on the situation. I bet none of the members on this site have been faced with turning in a loved one or someone your close with. Joe Paterno did what he had to do and let his superiors deal with it. It was THEIR choice on what to do with it. Joe had no idea whether the allegations were true or not and frankly, it was none of his business.
  7. Hey man. Fall fishing on Sinclair can be a lot of fun. I like spending most of my time up the Little River, where the water is dirty, and I feel the best population of quality fish are located. Go explore the river in practice and have the following tied on.....frog, spinnerbait, square billed crankbait, jig (make sure you can skip under docks), and a soft plastic jerkbait or senko style bait. Target every single dock, every blade of grass, every oddity in the seawalls, and especially every piece of wood cover. Hit the grass patches with the frog, and if they don't eat that, toss in the crankbait or spinnerbait. Whichever the fish tell you they want to eat that day. At Sinclair, they will eat one of those 2 on every day of the year. If you catch a fish off the grass on the frog, spinnerbait, or crankbait, throw your soft plastic stickbait into the grass and work it methodically. Usually in Fall, there will be more than 1 fish on a spot. The reaction bait gives away their location, they you go back through and catch em with a slow bait. When you come to a dock, Hit the edges with the frog, and if you can, skip the frog under the docks. After that, work it with the spinner/crank, and again, if you catch fish, toss in the stickbait. When your trolling between docks, take that frog or spinner/crank, whichever they are eating that day, and parallel those seawalls, especially if there is any visible cover or dark spots under the water. I can't tell you how many big fish I've caught BETWEEN the docks than under then. You will also find a lot of stretches of shallow laydowns on Sinclair. I prefer a spinnerbait in this situation, but that's just what I have confidence in. Slow roll that thing over those trees and you will catch em. There are some days they crush that frog over the trees, so don't forget to try it. Once again, if you catch a fish off of a tree or stretch of trees, go back through with a jig or stickbait and work the area thoroughly. Good luck my man and be careful up the river. It's a blast up there, but you need to stay in that channel and watch closely for floating debris.
  8. Since you don't know whether or not the pond has fish in it, throw baits that generally catch numbers over size. A grub, small 1/4oz buzzbait, Zoom U-tail worm, fluke, etc. Just toss it around and if you don't get bit within an hour or two, you can be pretty sure there is nothing in there. Good luck my man
  9. Is the vegetation in the shallow water close to the surface or even matted up, or is it that kind of pond scum type grass that stays close to the bottom? If the grass is high up, take hollow bodied frog like the Spro Bronzeye and cast the crap out of that thing, covering all the grass mats. Another great thing to try is a chatterbait style bait along the grass edges and over the tops of the submerged grass. Spro makes a jig called the Shake N' Bake that really tears them up. It has a double frog hook rather than the traditional single hook and this GREATLY improves hook ups. A steady retrieve usually works, but if they aren't hitting that, try working it in like a carolina rig. Let it drop to the bottom, then sweep your rop tip sideways, then let the bait drop again. Watch your line on the fall. After hitting that shallow vegetation, move out to that channel and cast a texas rigged worm along the edges and to any kind of cover you see on your electronics (rock, brush, stumps, etc.). My absolute favorite bait setup is a 1/4oz tungsten screw in bullet weight, 4/0 Gamaktsu EWG, and Zoom Mag II ribbontail worm. That freakin thing flat out catches. I really like the colors Plum and Black Neon. I doubt the color matters, but anything that adds to your confidence is a good thing. Cast it out and dead stick it. Move it as little as possible and I promise you, you will catch fish. The biggest thing is to make sure your casting to the right spot. This isn't a technique to cover water. Your moving the bait a foot a minute. Get that cast to the right spot on that channel and you will catch quality fish. This is an awesome summer technique.
  10. I use the original floater just like backwater4.....cast it out, let it sit until all the rings settle, give it a tiny twitch, let it sit until the rings die, twitch twice, repeat. FUGLY. I like the #07 in the silver/black back.
  11. Beautiful stuff, Fish! As much as I enjoy keeping up with all the things you post (fish/wildlife pics, car stuff, etc.), what I really enjoy is your perspective on life in general. Your one of those people that seems to truly know how to live and thats a frame of mind that TONS of people try their whole lives to obtain. A master in the art of living. Keep it up, dude. Glad to see you got that truck bumpin
  12. FL_Sharpshooter: You can use any wide gap hook with a slip sinker. I prefer using Gamakatsu hooks and I'm real partial to using Tungsten for my weights. You also can use any of the internal tube weights that they sell. Go to *** and check out their terminal section. They have a whole section just for jigheads made for tubes. I use the Biteme models. They are pretty affordable and use good enough components. Never had an issue with them.
  13. Oh and by the way, a swimming fluke crawled over the lake you pictured would be INSANE!!!!!! I about died when I saw that picture. Congrats on having access to that sweet lookin pond, man.
  14. I see your from Florida, so you will probably be pretty skeptical about this........ Tubes. Pop it on an internal tube weight and flip that thing around those mats. There is no knot for the moss to get hung up on and it imitates the same thing a jig does. I promise you it will work and it barely snags grass. When it does, a simple pop will get it off. I've never understood why people down here in Ga, Fla, Al, don't throw tubes more. It's a killer bait. If you refuse to put down the jig, try using a swim jig or or any other jig with a bullet shape. The All-Terrain jig that was posted about is a great choice. Brovarney makes AWESOME swim jigs. Check em out. After you tie your not, tie a simple overhand knot. Make sure the tag is pointing down when your done. What this does is eliminate that notch that is always between your knot and the tag end. That is what picks up all the grass. When you tie the overhand, the notch is facing down so it wont grab nearly as much. Good luck
  15. Have you really seen your catch rate drop from a bag of plastics that had some air pockets on their sides?? If so, I'm telling you now, it's all in your head. I've had fish rip the tail off of a swimming fluke or mag 2 and as I'm reeling it in, it gets slammed. How about all the times you've glued appendages on a bait and the craftsmanship is crappy and then you chuck it out and start catching them?
  16. Dave, I'm loving that pattern. I think gills give off that greyish look when not in direct sunlight. IMO, even though the other colors pop more, your pattern is the most realistic one. GJDM
  17. Thank god there is someone else out there that realizes this. I don't d-shot too much, but when I do, it's the Crosstail Shad
  18. With that said, there is still no way to deny KVD as best angler ever. The dude is just a monster and has proven himself over and over. In a lot of cases, it doesn't matter how much help you got before the tournament because the fish change and you have to make an adjustment. KVD makes those adjustments and wins. Period.
  19. Bass_Fanatic: I think what Deep JIg was commenting on was the well known fact that KVD has a team of Toyota and Strike KIng Pro Staff that practice on the lakes before the tournament and give him tons of valuable information. Not all of the anglers get help. I know for a fact that Aaron Martens does EVERYTHING by himself. No guides, no friends, no nothing.
  20. This......this just doesn't make sense to me. What your saying is that you are gonna stop using a technique that caught you a fish on 30% of your casts because it is too expensive? If I was catching fish on 30% of my casts, I would sell all my other tackle and fish that exclusively. Heck, if your worried about cost, go to Del-Mart molds and pour your own flukes. Only costs like 20 cents a bait. Hope that isn't too much
  21. One of the most deadly post spawn techniques is to take an original sized fluke, nose hook it with a small circle hook, and throw it on 10lb fireline. Twitch it in as fast as you can with small, sharp snaps of the rod tip. Goodbye fluke
  22. I've never used the Cotee version of the floating worm, but basically any straight tailed soft plastic will work on a wacky rig. I like using the Gamakatsu Weedless Finesse Wide Gap with a Zoom Trick Worm or GYCB Swimmin Senko. Make sure your fishing it on light line (6lb/8lb) to get the most natural movement out of your bait.
  23. In my opinion, "that guy" is that guy because he/she fishes for quality bites from cast number 1. The catch 5 mentality doesn't exist in these anglers minds. This allows the angler to slow down and fish with patience. The slower, more precise presentations turn into quality bites. If you ask the top finishers of a tournament, most of them will say they got less than 10 bites all day.
  24. One of our members, Youngbassmaster (Cade), crushes them each year about this time in Wisconsin. He always was using the Brovarney Baits Swim Jig. Anyway, go get yourself a 1/4oz jig in any shad color or bluegill color, thread a single tail grub on it, and cast it at any shallow cover and work it back like a spinnerbait. Good luck mane
  25. I lol''d. That's pretty funny.
